Hi Moms!
Due with baby #3 in 4-5 weeks and need suggestions on what type of bottles to use. I loved using Ventaire by Playtex for the first two kids but I used them for both kids and sometimes warmed the formula in the microwave. I am concerned now about the safety of the bottles since they are plastic (never recalled for the (Bisphenol A)I checked. I've saved them to use again (I did buy new nipple tops of course) but am concerned about the overall safety. Your suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

We liked Dr Brown's glass bottles. My son only took a bottle as an infant, I would never allow a child to hold a glass bottle. We went from those bottles to sippy cup.
Heating the bottle in the microwave can cause hot spots and burn babies. That's what we were told. :)
So, we just used cold milk (or a bottle warmer when the kids were very young). This was for breastmilk but formula would be the same situation.
I would honestly go with glass for safety. They clean well and have no harmful chemicals. Just make sure the baby does not get them, or the toddlers. In our house, the toddlers would get the bottles so we could not use glass!
Plastic and microwave heating does not sound good. It's just one of those things I think they might find out kills us in a few years. You never know!
I liked the BPA free Avent bottles best - no annoying valves to clean. Also used the Born Free, but it has valves. Hated Dr. Browns, especially the glass - by far the worst to clean, and they are super long and awkward.
Good luck :o)
Born free are great!
I am reusing the Avent bottles that I used for my son. I think they are fine to re-use after several years. I think you should just use the ones you have, as long as they haven't been recalled. New nipples is about all you need, I think. Good luck on your third baby! :)
