I just read a post that I thought was an awsome idea, the mom teaches dance class in her home (wish she was near my home).
I am asking for ideas of services that could be done with children in the home, any ideas? What would you like you child invovled in? I know this would depend on what gifts a person would have but list your thoughts according to what you would like or have paid for in case another mom reads and can use the idea.

What about a children's exercise class? LOL @ Tracey I know Right! My daughter lost weight when I decided enough is enough and started to make her go outside and stop watching as much TV....

TIA!

I would absolutely pay for swimming lessons! I am having the hardest time finding reasonably priced private lessons right now!! ;) I probably would do an art class too. I do some art at home, but not as much as a "class" would do and my daughter would love it!

Not excercise. I can run them around just fine. I would pay for a weekly art class. A Music or Singing lesson. Tutoring, sports clinc. Heck, I would pay just to have the afternoon to myself and not have to feel guilty. If the kids are having fun, then I can enjoy myself guilt free.

It would be great to have swim lessons at a home.

Love all the other suggestions, as well.

Are you talking specifically paying for something someone does from home? If so, yes and I do...

Tutors are great. Usually current teachers or teachers on maternity leave. Works great to stay on top of the game as far as grades, etc. Starts at $50/hr in my area

Private swim lessons

Art lessons

My daughter has a private cheer coach ($30/ 1/2 hr) 1-2 times a week

Daughter's school cheer squad trains for competition at a special gym at $125/month September - Jan

School cheer squad -- appx $3000+ per year

If you are in competitive cheer, appx $5000/yr

Music lessons, my daughter has a private violin teacher ($30/ 1/2 hr) 1 time per week

karate studio -- a GOOD one, not a "belt factory". My daughter private trained for her black belt. I paid about $250/month for private lessons for 6+ yrs

Hope that helps!

music lessons and I have paid also for my son to have reading lessons it was a program at our park district that was discontinued due to lack of enrollment. so the teacher talked to those of us who had enrolled our children and we paid her $15 a lesson and she taught them at her home. it was great.

What are your talents that you could share and instill in kids? If you have artistic talents you could offer painting classes or make something simple with clay. There are lots of ideas. I used to help at my church's VBS and teachers helped when their class went to crafts time. Go to Michael's and see what kind of ideas you can come up with by what crafts they offer.
If you're musically inclined, offer private lessons. Or create a neighborhood band or orchestra and get some inexpensive instruments. Decide what age group would be able to do whatever you're planning. Kids like to make stuff for mom and dad.
I SEMI agree with martial arts. But you should be qualified to do that in the first place. If you don't always remember your stuff or don't perform it correctly, you'd be doing the student a disservice for when he/she goes back to rec. dept classes. You don't want to teach them wrong or poorly done. And I can say that because I've been a karate mom since 1990 and seen well trained and less well trained, and even adult students who don't always know their stuff well.

One thing I would have liked for my oldest child at about the age of 2 is a Kid Fit class. Like learning the difference between skipping, hopping, jumping, etc. Where do you live? I'd bring my 16 month! LOL.

Dance would be good if you have the space for it, but many homes don't have that option.
