O.O.
Personally, for that amount of people, a large sandwich ring is perfect. Add a potato salad, fruit tray, cheese, pepperoni & crackers.
Ok..I know this isn't a life altering question but my son is making his first communion this weekend. I am torn on the menu. We are having about 15 guests after and will be gone approx. 2 hours. Should I do meatballs, scalloped potatoes, vegetable, fruit and dessert or sandwiches, chips, fruit & veggie tray and dessert. I was leaning towards the meatballs and putting it in crockpots or roasters or should I opt for the sandwiches since it can all be taken out of the fridge and eaten? I am also planning on having a few apps and meat and cheese tray. What do you think?

Go with the sandwiches. Meatballs need pasta to go along with them. Might ant to consider some salads too. Definitely the cold menu. So much easier. Walk in house take out of frig and relax and enjoy the day. Congratulations and God bless your son.
Will your guests be seated or roaming around? If roaming, best to have simple foods to eat by hand, like the sandwiches.
I like both ideas... Either way you can't really go wrong.
If you plan a seated formal'ish meal, I'd go hot with meatballs. If its more informal, drop in, etc... I'd go with the sandwiches, veggie plate, antipasta platter and a salad or 2 with condiments.
Congratulations!!

Congratulations!!! on your son's first communion! How exciting!
To be honest - I like all of it...it gives a great selection for everyone...hot meatballs (make sure you put them in last and on the lowest setting) and sandwiches.
I love to have deviled eggs and cheese trays...fruit....veggies...i love having parties!!
I think it's great!! Have a wonderful time!
I'd do the sandwiches, chips, fruit, veggie tray and dessert. People can help themselves, you won't need to serve.
Have fun!
Meatball sandwiches... Best of both worlds!
I like the idea of meatballs if you can do them while you're gone in the
crockpot safely.
One thing though......not everyone likes meatballs.
What if you do the first thing you stated (meatballs, scalloped potatoes,
vegetable, fruit & dessert but then add some sandwhich stuff for quick
n' easy and for kids.
God bless your son on his First Holy Communion!
sandwiches, that way the meatballs won't get mushy, and you won't have to wait on everything to heat up.
