What to Feed the Babysitter?

What do you moms feed your babysitters for dinner? My babysitter is in her 50's I'd guess, and I typically tell her there are frozen entrees or hot pockets in the freezer, as well as chips, popcorn, etc. in the pantry.

What can I do next?

Since she is not a teenage babysitter she might appreciate a little different snacks. I was thinking fresh veggies in the fridge with ranch or fresh fruit with the yummy fruit dip. Although we all do love the junk food :) I think it is very nice of you to be concerned. I still remember the houses that i didn't like to babysit because i hated their snacks! (i also had to laugh at the one mom's post, because i think we all used to raid the snack cabinets!!..oops!)

Ask her! LOL Seriously, unless she has dietary concerns, I would keep frozen stuff, cans of soup, sandwich stuff, etc. handy. Cheese, crackers & fruit would be a nice snack plate!

The simple answer is to ask her what she would prefers. This will establish a good line of communication. She might even bring her own lunch. Asking her weekly will show that you consider her part of the family and that will help her feel more like one of the family when it comes to you baby soon to be babies. A small token like this goes a long way to make her feel like part of the family.

Whenever we go out, I leave money for them to order pizza. I tell her to get what she wants on us, but she always buys her own food and it makes me feel bad.

OMG,...forgive me but I actually almost choked laughing when I read your request! Not because its silly but it reminded me of eating everything I could find when I babysat as a teen! My parents never bought chips or snack food for us as kids, so when I baby sat I ate it all!!! Im 45 and just ran into a lady I babysat for when I was 16 and appologized for eatig all her junk food!

Anyway, so sweet you think about her. I would suggest just like any other job, she bring her own. Offer what you have, things you would normally keep but its really her choice.

Oh, you made me smile!

I think frozen meals or left overs are OK. I would ask her if there is anything she wants. Not that you should have to cook her a gourmet meal, but maybe there is a certain kind of frozen meal that she prefers.
