Is she lactose intolerant? Because Lactaid milk & Lactaid pills have done wonders for my son & hubby.
My 2yr old Daughter is alleric to Milk and Dairy and SOY.She is not lactose intolerance she has Milk Protein Disease (A milk allergy that occurs when the child's immune system mistakenly sees the milk protein as dangerous and tries to fight it off. This starts an allergic reaction, which can cause the child to be fussy and irritable, and cause an upset stomach and other symptoms even death. Most children who are allergic to cow's milk also react to goat's milk and sheep's milk, and some of them are also allergic to the protein in soy milk.)
Im running out of Ideas on how to cook for the whole family and not have to cook her, Her own meal . I just came to my last end so Im asking all of you for some Ideas Please. It's hard to cook for a child who cant have these foods when she is the only one in the family like that. she is on a suplement and I have tried all kinds of thing but now I just need to know what works for the WHOLE family and not just her and us.

Can she have rice milk or almond milk? Maybe try those if she can
Usually most allergies have to do with our immune system. Also our body’s ability to absorb properly. We should be getting nutrients from our foods but it's not happening. I would recommend Mightymins Isotonix(Liquid) and OPC-3 to boost her system and flush the toxins. Also, sometimes being lactose intolerant has to do with a Calcium deficiency. Maybe Isotonix Calcium (liquid) would be great. I have many testimonies I could share with you if you are interested. Cullen
I have a 4 year old girl with many allergies including milk. At one point she couldnt have milk or soy and I know that can be difficult. We used rice milk for her. I know there are some rice milk cheese brands out there but you have to be careful that there is not casein (milk) in it. My daughter can now have soy cheese. What we do for dinner is make something like a taco casserole. I will prepare it all the same and when it is time to add the cheese I will separate hers into a smaller dish, add her cheese and then cook them. So it is not too much extra work. When we bake we just use soy milk in any recipe that calls for milk. We used to do that with rice milk too. As a mom of kid with peanut allergies, I would caution you not to use any kind of nut milk without talking to your allergist.

Hi M.,
Our son is in the same boat (5 years old). It isn't too hard for us, since we all eat quite a variety of foods. Depending on what your family likes to eat or how adventurous everyone is, there are a lot of substitutions that can be made. When baking, making sauces, or blending smoothies, we use a variety of products. Nut milks or rice milk are pretty versatile and you can get them unsweetened. I found a recipe for a bread spread (to sub for butter or margarine) made from coconut oil, olive oil, and flaxseed oil. This gets good quality fats into the diet without the problems of dairy. There is evidence that dairy is not absorbed well by the body anyway. If you can, focus meals around lean meats, nuts, beans and grains, and fruits and veggies. If there are dishes you'd like to modify, I might have some ideas. It has also helped me to make a list of all the dishes we CAN eat as a family, then I can focus on what we can all eat instead of what we can't, especially when I am stuck for inspiration.
Good luck!
My 9 yr old daughter has a girl in her Girl Scout troop, that has to bring her own snacks to meeting, and when we did a camping overnite, she had special pancakes, syrup, and dinner. She handles it really well.
I have been there. My daughter was allergic to milk and corn. Try almond milk or rice milk. I really like the almond milk. We used it for baking also because my daughter couldn't have anything that was baked with milk in it. When making dinner think meat, vegetable, potatoes and you will actually avoid most milk items. I have always used fresh or frozen vegetables. Chicken breast are quick and easy. Try googling vegan recipes and you will get a lot of great resources.Peta web site for kids has a list of vegan(non-dairy foods) on that web-site. It is great becasue it is normal foods like which cereals, poptarts, bread, condiments etc.. You still will need to watch for the soy though. Now that my younger daughter is out growing her food allergies, my older daughter has gone vegan. So meals are still fun around here. You are going to become a great label reader and shopping does take a little longer, but you will get faster at it. I also have always taught my children that you either eat what is front of you or you go hungry until the next meal.I never cooked special meals because they did not like what I had made for dinner.I just made sure to serve a balance meal and a varity of things. Good Luck it will get easier.
