What to Feed a 10M Old with No Teeth

My 10m old daughter has boycotted any and all puréed foods, even if I make them chunky. She loves homemade pancakes and toast, but aside from that I'm not sure what else I can give her seeing as she doesn't have a single tooth in her mouth. I don't do many processed foods so canned items are out. Any ideas? She is also breastfed:)

I also breastfed (well, still am) and my children didn't have teeth until after their first birthdays.

You can do soft cooked vegetables...carrots, peas, chopped green beans, etc. You can give her soft fruits in tiny chunks...peaches, pears, mandarins, tiny chunks of apple, banana, melon, etc. You can also do tuna, and other tiny chunks of soft meat...other types of fish would be great to start.

Casseroles are good, soups, eggs...

Basically, you can give her anything that isn't hard as long as you serve it in tiny bite size chunks.

My daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was a year old.
She ate EVERYTHING!

She ate scrambled eggs with mushrooms, poultry, fish, meatloaf, pasta. She also chomped on celery, carrot sticks and beef jerky. I think she had a harder time teething because her little gums were so tough. But, she was very adept at chomping on harder things which actually helped in the long run. My daughter REFUSED baby food. She wanted the real stuff. She wanted to taste what she could smell cooking.

At this age, I gave my kids whatever we ate, broken into smaller pieces, of course, but the pureed thing? No way would they touch it other than yogurt and jarred fruit.

Rice, mashed potatoes and gravy, small bits of chicken or fish, cooked carrot coins, peas, green beans. Give her a spoon and let her have at it.
Let her use her fingers.

I breastfed my son until 15 months, but he ate "real" food too and loved it.

Bagels, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, waffles, small pieces of fruit and veggies, cereal like Cheerios, homemade tomato soup in a sippy cup, string cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, crackers. Her gums are actually surprisingly strong and capable of grinding food down. Also continue to offer pureed foods like applesauce, so she doesn't develop a texture aversion.

Eating solids is a learning process, she'll get it. My son was breastfed until a few months past 3 years, he ate regular non-baby food from about 7 months.

Honestly, my kids were pretty late teethers and I found that teeth are truly not a requirement for eating. Their jaws are pretty strong. My daughter refused purees at 8 months so I started just cutting up everything really small and it worked great!

You have a lot of good suggestions so far on good foods. One of my stand-bys was to cook a bag of frozen veggies, then refreeze them in ziplocks and I just popped them in the microwave for like 30 seconds and they were ready to eat at lunch or dinner. Another good one is to make oatmeal with little water so that it's thick and then just give it to her in clumps. My kids LOVED it! I just got instant kind and they ate it up. Frozen waffles, cheese, lunch meat, various crackers, dried fruit (freeze dried not regular dried), hot dogs, any sort of meat....all of them got eaten and enjoyed and I'll tell you what...it made my life SO much easier!

My daughter wouldn't eat anything off a spoon for a long time but after about 1 she started eating applesauce and yogurt, and has no texture issues. So don't worry if she completely boycotts a spoon a right now!

Take the pancakes and add things like pureed fruits, and add things like apple butter or marmalade to the toast. Cook foods like carrots soft. Add breastmilk to the baby cereals...trust me she'll recognise the taste, and at least try it.

I nursed longer than most, so it was mostly cereal and nursing and the occasional mashed banana/fruit mixed in until he was 2.

Gums are as strong as teeth. You can feed her absolutely EVERYTHING that you eat; chicken, ground beef, lunch meat, hot dogs, elbow noodles, peas, grapes (very small chunks), bananas etc. No foods should be prohibited. Just cut everything up in small chunks.

My kids didn't get teeth till 13 months, but they ate everything we ate, no special meals for them.

Pea-sized bites of anything soft. Chopped bananas, steamed carrots and peas, cut up noodles, baked/mashed potatoe. Pretty much anything that you can boil or steam so that it's not hard, but also not pureed mush. Plus she is only 10 months so it's okay that breastmilk be her main staple. I'm sure those teeth will be arriving very soon and then you can pretty much introduce anything that's cut up!

My daughter didn't get teeth until almost 14 months. I fed her anything I ate, as long as it wasn't too crunchy.

Just about any veggie cooked soft including small chunks of baked potato.
Teeth are overrated at this point!

If she doesn't want food don't worry, the breast milk is complete nutrition. She is getting a lot of nutrients from that. This could just be a stage she will grow out of too.

keep offering food to her and she will eventually try it hopefully.
