I believe they will re-sell them. If the kids shoes are in really good shape you can even sell them on Ebay or Craigslist.
Hello ladies. We are cleaning out our basement and getting rid of stuff that has been in boxes since we moved over two years ago. We are going to donate most of it. However, we have some old shoes that are in decent shape. They are children's and adult shoes.
What do we do with them?
If we donate them to a charity, do they actually sell them, give them away OR just THROW them away? Basically I'm trying to find out if there is a specific charity to which we can give these wearable shoes. (In the Cleveland, OH area.) I don't want the shoes thrown away if someone can use them.
Thanks
Thanks for the replies. Just after posting the question I received a postcard in the mail from Volunteers of America asking for donations which will be picked up on my street next week. Included in the list of things needed were shoes for adults and children. So, I shall be placing my donations on my porch for them to pick up! :)

Goodwill sells them. Also Salvation Army stores.
Not sure about the charities that come to your door to pick up stuff.
Or have you seen those bins in parking lots for clothes and shoes? Not sure what happens to them.
Just some ideas.
The Goodwill by my house sells shoes. I would assume that most of them do. I know how you feel! I hate to throw anything away that someone could use! :)
