My son is no longer being tube fed after 5 years and I'm confident he won't need to again. He has a feeding pump and I think it's stupid to throw away or hold on to. I goggled it and it's worth like $1,500. I would love to give it to a needy family or something. But... I've called the Children's Hospital and they told me they won't take it b/c of the "personal nature of it". I understand, but I want to do something good w/it. I had to rent to buy for years before we owned it.

So... any of you ladies know of what one would do w/a feeding pump? Any ideas are welcome! I just want to pay it forward!!

What can I do next?

What about putting it on craigs list or ebay?

They will know its used and it may help that one family who can't afford it. If you do a craigslist you wouldn't have to put the amount on it. Just put a general listing that its used and for sale. If someone is serious about buying it they can contact you for more info and then you can state if its free or what ever price you put on it.

I understand the hospital's view of the personal nature of its use... but someone who really needs it may look past that and see it as a blessing they couldn't afford... even with a rent to own.

First off, glad to hear your son is now healthy and that the pump helped him grow!

Since it can't be donated for human use...what about donating it to an animal hospital or a zoo for animals that need assistance following illness or surgery? As such, it would most likely be able to be used as a tax deduction going to the organization or facility?
