My husband is golfing for most of this weekend.
Since it is going to be really nice, I'd like to do something other than sit around the house!
Does anyone know of anything good going on around this area? I live in Oxford but I am willing to drive a little.
I was hoping for a small fair or maybe a petting farm (not the Detroit Zoo – I am sure there will be a lot of people there this weekend).
My daughter is almost 2 - so nothing too big.

The Heritage festival is being held at Rochester Municipal Park on Sat. and Sun.in downtown Rochester. They will have a petting zoo and pony rides.

There is a Polish Festival at St. Mary's in Orchard Lake (near west bloomfield) They have carnival rides, games, yummy food. We go every year :)
There is a great small zoo with a petting farm in Burch Run. If you get off at the Burch Run exit and go right instead of toward the shopping area. At the next intersection would be where you head toward Frankenmuth make the left there and it is just on your right. There is a butterfly house, petting zoo animals, along with a few regular zoo animals. Bring change to feed some of the animals along the way, the bears love to be fed surgar balls through a fence tube. http://www.wildernesstrailszoo.org/
It is usually not to busy, and I work outside the home, so it is usually weekends for us. It is the best kept secret in burch run if you ask me. Make sure the kids wear red and bright pink to attract the butterflies.
