I've checked online and some are only in t sizes and not 24 months My daughter is tall and skinny so what do you all recommend?
Buy her 2t so it lasts till spring or 24 months? Currently she doeant have any 24 month clothing because she fits into her 9 month onesies and her 18 month pjs(footies)
Would 2t fit her for next winter also?
Also I dnt want the really puffy marshmallow jackets. or white in color.
I nEed help from experienced mamas.

24 months usually are shorter, if pants they have snaps in the crotch for diaper changing, they have shorter arms if long sleeved too.

In dresses the 24 month is about 1-2 inches shorter. Toddlers are still crawling some where a 2 yr. old is walking all the time and hardly every on their knees playing.

I think 2T might be slightly bigger. I've heard that 2T pants have more room in the butt for a diaper, while 24 months do not, but I am not sure about jackets. I wonder if it's just a difference between manufacturers and companies and how they choose to label things. Whether or not it fits her next year will depend on how much she grows. My daughter was in a 3T winter coat at 28 months and it was fine for the next winter too when she was 3, but we lucked out there - she usually needs new stuff every season.

from what i have heard is 2T and 24 months is basically the same thing except in pants i heard the 24 mos is a little bigger in the butt for diapers, not sure if that is true just what ive heard.

I've bought size 5 and 5t for my daughter and she fits in both.

I have always found that 24 months were a bit smaller than 2t.

For many brands 24 months is meant to fit the average toddler from 18-24 months and 2T is meant to fit from 25 months to 36 months. The Children's Place 24 m is equivalent to a 2T but in many brands 2T is significantly larger. Almost all stores (and their websites) will have a size guide with the size (length and weight) of the child the clothing is supposed to fit. In general height is more important than age or weight in sizing.

Very little, if any, difference. Most brands have one or the other. If they have both, it's usually because the 24 mo and smaller sizes have one style (maybe all one piece) and the 2T and above sizes have a different style (maybe pants and a top). I found that to be true when buying pj's one year. My younger son had a sleeper (with the zipper) that matched big brothers. He got pants and a long sleeve shirt. The 24 mo and smaller was a one piece, and the 2T and above were two pieces.

There is little difference in 24 months vs 2T. Some brands there are more of a difference than in others (as with anything and an size). Typically, 2T is a touch bigger (sometimes not at all and sometimes bigger in either width or length, and sometimes in both).

I would try on a few to get the best for the style you are looking for. As to if it would fit next year, it will depend on how big it is now and how much your daughter grows.

I think they're the same. My son fits in both. I wondered what the difference was myself but I think it's just the way the manufacture decides to label them.

from my experience, 2t and 24m is exactly the same thing - at least at Target. I went there and literally compared the height and weight ranges for both sizes and they were exactly the same...not sure if thats true everywhere though.

I really don't notice the difference with my youngest, he wears both. Only difference is it appears the 2t is slightly longer on him. With my oldest whenever I tried to put him in 24 months the waist were humongous on him. 2ts seemed slimmer. So my own deduction is the 24 months are for the short sturdy boys, and the 2ts were for the slim and lanky.

In a jacket I would check arm and torso length and see how they compare to the 2t. I would suspect 24mths would be more girthier (made up word of mine) than the 2ts and a shorter torso just my guess. good luck
