Secret Platinum. Its a little pricier but since Istarted using it about 3 years ago I never get sweat marks on my shirts anymore.
I have been using all brands of deodorant, but none of them seems to work. In the summertime, my under arms sweat a little bit and I need to know what other things can I use to prevent my underarms from embarrassing sweat. Thanks!

I second Certain Dri!! You use it at night and you can still use something else in the morning that smell nice. It works wonders!!!! A complete life saver!
If you are only sweating a little bit, that is a healthy thing to do! (detox) It's the oder that is a challenge, if you are dealing with that. Some ladies sweat a lot and it is embarassing - so have no choice but to help stop it.
Antiperspirants keep you dry - deoderants are only made to deoderize. Many stay away from antiperspirants off the store shelf because of the alumnium issue, and I do that. I use one that has natural alumnium - not the synthetic stuff that is suspect of contributing to breast cancer. Mine works well; I hear other women say the natural ones they've tried like from Whole Foods or similar - don't do the job.
Wanting a safe product - I use deorderant most of the year from Melaleuca.com and use their antiperspirant at challenging times for dryness.
Anti perspirant is also great for keeing your feet from sticking to you insoles.<grin>
i gave up on girls/womens deodorants years ago. they just didnt work i smelled like sweaty flowers! how lovely right?? anyway the best thing i have found for me was old spice. it smells clean not to manly (depending on the scent) and most important it works! hope this helps
i like secret unscented. it has worked good for me for years. i really sweat i don't have to worry about smell. good luck, r uhls
I have the same problem. The only one I like to use lately is Secret Clinical Strenght.
I always have 2-3 different brands that work well on hand and switch between them. I use Degree, Arrid XX and Dove. I use the Degree and Arrid XX during the summer when I sweat more.
i use degree. i've found that it works pretty good. i use the one that says little black dress aproved on the label so when you wear nice clothes u don't have to worry about deoderant lines.
secret platinum - not super expensive but works super great and i'm a smelly sweater :P yuck.
But for a natural option in the fall, winter, and spring, I like to use Kiss My Face brand in Lavendar (Toms doesn't help at all!) If I am outside in the heat - I have to use Secret Platinum (clinical strength also works great, but more money than I need to spend when I get something that works great with Platinum)
Are you using deodorants or antiperspirants?
I have a similar problem - they work for a week or two then don't anymore.
I have had the best luck with Secret Clinical. It works a bit differently than regular antiperspirants.
Here are the directions from their website:
1. Apply Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid™ at bedtime. The Advanced Solid will work while you sleep to reduce excess perspiration. It will continue to protect you throughout your next day even if you bathe or shower the next morning. If you apply in the morning, you will still get strong wetness protection; however, for optimal performance apply at night.
2. A light layer of Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid is recommended. Customize the protection that’s right for your personal needs by adjusting the amount dispensed. The average dose is 2 clicks per underarm.
3. For waterproof wetness protection, apply Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof at bedtime and then reapply during your morning routine.
After about two to three weeks, I notice that it's not working as well, so I switch to a different brand for a couple of weeks then switch back. I usually alternate between Mitchum and Secret Clinical, though sometimes I'll switch between Secret Clinical and Degree Clinical.
I've never tried it yet, but I know a lot of people who swear by CertainDri. Maybe try that, it's available at walmart, target, etc.
Certain Dry works really well.
i have had this problem all my life and even the clinical doesnt work all the time i have to swtich the clinical every time i buy a new stick they are all the same price so it doesnt bother me and by switching every time i buy a new one they all work great for me but they all have to be clinical strength
dove lemongrass smells the best but if you get botox injected in your underarms it will slow down the sweating completely, the needle isnt long and they do it so fast you dont have time to really react. i hope this helps. remember that sweating is good for us and its a good way to tell if youre taking in the right foods , depending on its smell and how much water you need.( i just found out that dove is not an animal friendly brand anymore and have since quit using it ,you can find a safe one at www.caringconsumer.com)
Ask your doctor to prescribe something. I did and have been happy ever since. I tried the clinical strength and that was disappointing. I was mad because I found that suave deodorant worked better, but still not well enough.
Ask your doctor to prescribe an inexpensive one. The one I use is only $16.00 with out insurance, but I have insurance, so they covered it, but if they didn't I would still have paid for the full price. Plus with a prescription deodorant, they go a long way compared to any thing you would buy off the shelf.
You can also price the different ones by cold calling a pharmacy and tell them what you are doing; "Hi, I am calling to find out what prescription deodorants you carry and how much they cost so I can bring the information to my doctor and have him prescribe something I can afford." They will actually give you the info.
Good Luck and God Bless,
My daughter is 14 and she sweats in excess of what I feel is normal. I buy a deodrant called "Dove Sport". It is clinical strength. It works for her. It is about 8.00 for a very small amount but it is worth it if you really want to cut the sweat and odor.
Certain Dri!! It's awesome!! I was horribly embarrassed at work when I'd be wet under my arms in my dress shirts. This stuff dried me up for sure! I'd use a good smelling normal deoderant (w/no anti-persperient)on top of it during the day. I think the one I liked was Tom's Natural. Sometimes my underarms would get a little irrated from the Certain Dri and itch a little...but it was worth it to feel 100% confident I wasn't going to sweat through all my shirts! Good luck!
Make sure that you use a deodorant with anti-perspirant in it. Not all of them do. Buy the ones with clinical strength on the label.
There is a product called Certain Dry that you can get from Wal-Mart or similar drug stores. You may have to ask the pharmacy to get it for you because sometimes they keep it behind the counter. Also, I've heard there are other such products that are held behind the counter for this type issue. Also, your dermatologist can recommend some products that you can get with and without a prescription.
Hope this helps. Note: these products are used a bit differently than regular anti-perspirant type products, so read directions and use according to packaging as it can cause burning if you try to use as regular deodorant.
The ladies I work with use Secret Clinical and they swear by it.
dove works best for me
