What Is Threading? Is It for Eyebrows?

I am very fair skinned with strawberry-blonde hair. My eyebrows and eyelashes are blonde and very short and sparse. When I do not have makeup on, my eyebrows and lashes totally disappear and I look very washed out. Is there anything I can do? I'm scared of dyes. Is threading an option? How long does it last.

What can I do next?

I have the same problem. Threading is actually a method of removing hair like tweezing. I have had my eyebrows and lashes dyed and I am a big fan!! It lasts about 4-6 weeks. It would be about $35.00 for both. In the mean time I use a reddish brown eye pencil (always) that is specifically for eyebrows and just lightly rub it on the hairs to darken them. I have found these at drug stores. I can't live without them.

Threading is an Indian process for removing unwanted hair on the face, like waxing, or plucking with tweezers, except it is with thread. I don't think this is what you are looking for. I do threading to pluck my eyebrows. :)

I get my eyebrows threaded at Stonbriar Mall, there is a kiosk set up close to the food court. All of the women there are very good and very fast! Good Luck

Threading is an alternative to waxing for eyebrows, facial skin, and forearms. I am also fair skinned and now a dish water blond. I prefer to have my eyebrows threaded to waxing because even the lowest temp wax seems to rip a layer of skin off my face. I then end up with shiny spots where the brow and skin used to be... not attractive. So I found Styles of India in Las Colinas and they do my brows and my upper lip.

That being said, I'm not sure this is what you are looking for. Are you wanting color to your eyebrows? If so, I think the options are dying, tattooing, and just plain old makeup. I opt for the make up... the other two are too close to my sight for me to be comfortable about it.

GL!

threading is great to get your eyebrows cleaned up and shaped with out the harsh waxing, you might want to try shaping with brow wax. If you are interested, I can give you the number of a woman in Plano who does great threading, and go to www.m3vno.myarbonne.com and under face color for eyes is the eyebrow wax, it isn't permanent, but is way more natural than using a pencil. Thanks M.

Not sure that threading is an option for you, but you can learn more at www.thethreadingstudio.com

Sunita is located inside Suite Escape Salons in Southlake and is excellent.

Kim S recommended permanent makeup. There is a woman named Tweety at the same salon that does that, so you could find out if that is a good option for you. Good luck!

threading is an alternative to waxing your brows. It's actually better for your skin, and it gives a great shape to your brows.

threading is like plucking your eyebrows but with thread and it is done super fast, not very painful, at least not to me. Styles of India on Mayfield in Arlington does it.

L., threading is for removing unwanted eyebrow hair. It seems like what you need is to tint (color) your brows so they can be seen. Many salons offer this.

I do my brows myself at home while I do my hair. I wouldn't touch my own eyelashes and just choose to wear mascara all the time, although covergirl used to have one that darkened lashes over time I don't know if they still do.

That said - look into the vegetable based dyes. They do a reasonably good job of darkening and from what I understand carry no risk of eye damage.

You may want try eyelash tabs. I went in to get my brows done today, and while I was there another woman had hers done. They simply add "tabs" of lashes. It looked natural. She was also fair skinned with light hair.

I know most of the ladies here say that threading doesn't hurt, but I found it to be quite painful. And I'm a person who literally falls asleep when I'm having my brows waxed and tweezed! The one thing I can say positive about it was that I loved the shape that was accomplished, but I would never subject myself to that kind of pain again! Nope...not gonna do it!

Threading is not what you want. Threading is a way to remove hair. It's a very old method, originating in India/Asia, where they use special cotton thread to remove hair... the technique used looks a bit like the threader is playing cat's cradle on your face. But if you need hair removed it's a great method, better than waxing. I get my face and eyebrows threaded at a place in Irving.

I think for thickening or darkening your eyebrows, you can do a tatoo or dye job that can look very good. I've seen women with their eyes tatooed or lips tatooed and it looks very good.

Threading is like waxing. You probably don't want to do that. I have dies mine to match my hair before and all turned out OK. A good stylist/colorist should be able to help you. Or try one of the eye brow pencils to shade it some or some dusted on them.

I've not gotten threading done myself, but I've heard it's pretty painful. If you tweeze, that may be enough for you.

Threading is for eyebrows but it is actually a technique that removes hair (like having a wax).

You should just have your eyebrows dyed a shade or two darker than your regular hair color and see how it looks. My friends do this all the time at the same time they get their hair dyed at the hair salon.

My eyebrows are not short but they are sparse in some places and I have found that just a simple eyebrow pencil does the trick.

They also have eyelash dyeing, which is really cool. A lot of people have really light ends on their eyelashes or light eyelashes all together and this is like instant mascara. The products the professionals use are safe.

Private msg me if you want to know where to go.

I wouldn't thread if i were you, it only makes the hair grow more irradically, thicker and darker.

Threading is an old world technique for arching the eyebrows. They use a fine silk like thread and it last longer than other methods.

I got permanent makeup(aka tatoo) eyeliner, and my mom got eyebrows. We both love them. You would probably have to pay about 300 for each procedure, but it is well worth it, not having to put eyebrows and liner on daily. You can email me if you would like more information. ~K.

I believe threading is like plucking. I had it done because I am fair with dark hair. They take 2 pieces of thread and catch your hair in it and twist and it pulls your hair out by the roots. Yikes! It was like torture for me.
