recently i have been having atleast once a week a day when i feel very dizzy, a little nauseous, and sometimes ill have those symptoms all day. at first i thought i must have eaten something bad but once a week i doubt it. let me add that i had a baby girl 4 months ago(second child) and 2 months after that i had a copper iud put in. i know for sure that after i had it put in was when i started having this happen to me but ive read that these are not symptoms from iud. honestly im a little scared and concerned. if this has happend to anyone please let me know more about it, now i dont have health insurance, i dont want to go to the doctors unless there is no other option. thank you, any advice will be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Two things to explore:
Are you having periods? If yes, are they heavy?...then you could potentially be anemic - pretty common side effect of the copper IUD and not unusual after a recent birth either.
If no, take a pregnancy test.
If symptoms don't subside or if they get worse you will have to go in. Always cheaper to get seen at a clinic rather than having to go to the ER...
Good luck!

I have heard of a lot of problems with IUDs. Go get it checked out right away. It may not be for you. God Bless! J.

You could be pregnant.... even if you haven't had a period!
My first daughter was 6 months old when I got prego with my second! I was breastfeeding full time, used protection and had had no periods at all....
Perhaps take a test!?
As a side note, my OB said she sees more pregnancies with IUD's than ANY other form of birth control! That is scary to have an OB say! Wow!
Good luck with the test and if you aren't prego I would say you should at least go to a clinic of some sort to have it checked out... could be hormones or something simple like that.

Hi there - it could be possible you may have an allergic reaction to the copper in the IUD. I have heard of these cases. You really need to have it checked out, go to a family planning center it is free or at avery low cost.

I wouldn't take a chance and would at least call the doctor's office.

There have been a lot of posts recently about IUDs and the side effects. I work with a lady who has developed diabetes as a result of her IUD - the hormones were enough to throw her glucose levels off balance.

You have 2 children who need you. The cost of a doctor's visit is worth learning if there is something wrong. I don't want to scare you, but when my daughter was 7 weeks old, I found a spot on my shoulder that most people thought was nothing - ended-up being cancer. If I had waited, my prognosis would have been much worse.

Most doctor's offices will work with you on payment and may prorate costs based upon income levels.

Just because a side effect is not reported doesn't mean it isn't from the IUD. The FDA requires all pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers to report such information by law. I used to sell a product that received a warning for a side effect that only happened after the drug had been on the market for 4 years - never reported during the clinical trials.

It's very possible that your thyroid levels are off. I know you don't want to go to the doc but you might need to have your t3 and t4 levels checked. I had those symptoms until I started medication. Do a little research online about thyroiditis, hyperactive and hypoactive thyroid conditions and see if you have any of the other symptoms. Good luck, I hope you start feeling better soon.

Yes, my body started rejecting it and I had to have it removed. My body seems to be senstive to metal . Removing it and trying another form of birth control is a wise choice. And if symptoms persist you at least have the satisfaction of knowing what it isn't!

R. I would look up metal toxicity or metal toxins and see if these are some of the symptoms. You may be very sensitive to metals. Homeopathathic docs are good at figuring this stuff out and getting you tested. I would check into that.

Wow I was reading your post and I was all" wow that sound lke me" about the dizzy and Nauseau. But mine is from Crohns disease and this sinus infectin I keep getting( with no pain at all, just every time I go in they find it and ive me antibiotics for it) but then yo mentioned the IUD and I realized I have the same one. I wonder...Could it be due to my IUD??? I think I am going to ask my Dr now if it could have anything to do with that.
I don't have any advice but I thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I second the "anemic" thought-eat lots of dark green veggies and salads, beans, and meat.
Also, are you getting enough water? You should drink half your body weight in ounces each day-if you're nursing you should be drinking equal to your body weight. Dehydration in the winter is very common.
Good Luck

It hasn't happened to me but I have had a few friends with weird symptoms similar to yours. After removing them the symptoms went away. If you feel like something is not right about it you are probably correct.

It could be vertigo , it won't go away by itself so you would need to see a doctor. Symptoms can start out of the blue with no warning , you can have them all day every day or every now and then , when they are really bad you are so dizzy that you cannot walk in a straight line and you feel very nauseus , so if it is this you need to get it sorted asap as it will be impossible for you to look after your children.
