What Foods Go Well with Bloody Mary Drinks?

Hey Mamas ~

My Mom's B-Day is coming up & she had only two requests :
1) We do it at her house
2) We drink Bloody Marys

The weather is supposed to be crisp, but sunny on that day, so sis & I were thinking about dining outside on Mom's patio around 11am...
We have egg & french toast casserole recipes that we make for special occasssions, BUT - since we usually do those on Christmas morning, we want those foods to remain special, you know? What I mean is, Christmas is only weeks away, so we don't want to do the SAME dishes within just weeks of each other.

Mom is not a big eater, and all of the attendees are also "snacky" type people, so what would you suggest?
A Bloody Mary is kind of a "heavy" drink - very filling - and I'm not sure if nice cheeses and crackers go well with it...

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for the responses so far ! :-)
I'm becoming inspired to think that maybe fondu type stuff would be a good compliment ? Am I on the right track?

Yes, nice cheeses and crackers definitely go well with it. As well as a veggie platter - think of the celery and olives that go into the drink. Also spicy meats and bacon - like peppered salami and canadian bacon. Honestly, once we made bloody mary's and didn't have anything typical to skewer so we cooked some canadian bacon and skewered it with a piece of cheese - it was a great mid-morning snack;)

they all are "snacky" types of people... so set up a Bloody Bar! We have one once a month at the bar I work at. We have different kinds of cubed cheese, olives ( black and green. some regular and some stuffed with different ingredients), asparagus, pearl onions, pickles spears, beef sticks, avocados, cherry tomatoes, pepperoni sticks, cubed grilled steak, celery stalks... you get the idea. Really any food goes great with Bloody Mary's!

Pick foods that can be cut up into bit size pieces and put onto a toothpick or skewer. That way they are getting food into thier system and it will be a snacky type of food that goes great with thier bloody's.

Have a great day with your family!

If you have enough Bloody Mary's, no one will care what kind of food you have.

I would definitely go with a brunch theme since bloody marys go well with that. Maybe some champagne or mimosas also since not everyone likes bloody marys. I personally love them but I know some don't. I would suggest a breakfast quiche of some kind. Marie callenders even sells them you can order to go. Also fresh fruit, bagels and cream cheese, muffins would be great. I love the idea of a snack bar with cheese and crackers, nuts, shrimp cocktail, large green olives and/or italian ones, celery stalks too.

meat things, meaty saucy foods go well as well as sour foods. I dont think specifics are needed but stay away from sweet or bread types with Bloody Mary's

We do eggs Benedict! With roasted spicy potatoes.

Maybe some fabulous cinnamon rolls or fruit muffins.

A really easy dip that's great with Bloodies is: an 8 oz package of cream cheese, a jar of green olives, drained. Chop (food processor) the olives and mix with the cream cheese - I throw it all in the food processor. Make a ball and serve it. You can also roll the ball in nuts if you like, but I get more compliments without.
