i would do sandwiches and fruits veggies. things that are easily cleaned up.
So, my son's very first birthday party is this upcoming Saturday. First we were going to serve deli meat and cheese for sandwhichs, a roman noodle salad thing, fruit/veggir tray and chips. Then it was hotdogs and the rest od the previous list. And now I think I should do bbq chicken bite things. But now I don't know. Lol. What would you serve for lunch!? :)
Lynn C. - That is a great idea..But it's hard to say what his favorite food is. He LOVES EVERYTHING! Lol He is a little chunky monkey. Lol Thanks!! :)

How about some gogurt or yobaby for the little ones...maybe some macncheese casserole too.
I would serve your sons favorite meal! my daughter really liked pizza when she was turning 1 even though she still ate baby food she seemed to really enjoy it so that is what she had!
I like Lynn C's idea - cause that is what we usually do. As they get older, they tell us what they want on their birthday... my daughter (turning 8) is asking for cooked carrots, mashed potatoes & gravy, with black olives. I'm going to make a roast w/ carrots and then make the other stuff tomorrow on her birthday.
Lunch meat and hot dogs really aren't good foods for a 1 yr old (chocking hazards) and it is always nice for them to be able to have their birthday dinner.
Oh, if you are buying the cake - see if they offer a few "smach" cake... it's funny to watch them destroy it, but a HUGE mess - lol.
I am black and we entertain for babies like we do for the adults. I would have hot dogs and let every mama feed her child as she pleased (chili, relish, onion, cheese--all available for the mama's choice).
I always have WAY too much food at parties, so honestly, I'm not sure I should be advising! ;) I say make what you want, you can always use leftovers for dinner the next night! Kids like easy foods like fruit and hotdogs and it's a party, so they really aren't going to eat much of anything at all, trust me, they'll be too excited running around. So I say have a few key things (which you already do) for the kids and then cater to the adults.
