I wear yoga capris (a little cooler than pants, but still cover well) and a cap sleeve tee or tank top. I was never comfortable in shorts ;)
Yes, it might be a stupid question, but I'm wondering if it's smarter to wear yoga pants and a t-shirt, shorts and a t-shirt, or rather a tank top, a jacket ???
What are you most comfortable in when you work out ???

yoga pants and a t-shirt is comfortable for me. I don't like to wear shorts at the gym too much.
Yoga pants and a t-shirt was my gym attire! lol
Yoga pants and a tank top worked best for me. I hated wearing T-shirts cuz I am a big sweater and didn't like my sleeves sticking to me. Might want to bring a light jacket if you are in a cooler area so that when you leave the gym you are not freezing.

i wear a very supportive bra, a camisole top that extends over the tummy and yoga pants or capris(depending on the weather)
Stained sweatpants of my husband's and an old shirt. It's not pretty.
I wear a sports bra with support; an over-sized T-shirt and workout capris or knee-lenght shorts. I like the pants/shorts to have wicking material to help with the moisture and the over-sized tops to help with "air drying"! The support bra to help things stay in one place! ;)
The best outfit for me was yoga pants, sports bra, and a tank top. When you work out, you will need support and get really sweaty. If you wear loose fitting clothes, they will get in your way. Ex. running, cycling, etc.
It depends on what I am doing.
Spinning: spandex pants/long shorts (otherwise regular shorts/pants chafe)
Weight class: shorts/under-armour form fitting tank top
Cardio: shorts/spandex + tank top
Yoga: spandex pants + tank top
I don't like my clothes loose because it gets in the way. Plus it keeps me motivated to keep working out.
I think ultimately whatever you are most comfortable in. At my gym people wear everything from what I described to sweats/t-shirts.
