L.C.
Let see. I don't think about this often. I have them, though. If I were being completely greedy it would be:
Giant electic skillet
All knew calphalon cookware
Knew Clothes
A Massage package that comes with a facial
A new laptop
I know. We're moms. We are only supposed to want altruistic things like world peace and an end to hunger. Or non-monetary things like, a long bubble bath, the chance to sleep in, etc. But come on! All the ads are out and there are bound to be some things that make your eyes sparkle. What's on your secret wish list?
I want great sheets, a down alternative comforter, an immersion blender, a good garlic press, the Apologetics Bible, diamond solitaire earrings, a silver pendant engraved with my kids names on it, a new purse, a good digital camera with zoom, a massage, and the new Mary J Blige cd. I'm sure there is much more that will catch my eye in the next month. But, of course, I wont tell anybody I want these things. I'll just wistfully sigh and go about my merry way! What's on your secret wish list?
ooooh perfume, forgot about that one.
Let see. I don't think about this often. I have them, though. If I were being completely greedy it would be:
Giant electic skillet
All knew calphalon cookware
Knew Clothes
A Massage package that comes with a facial
A new laptop
Brown leather jacket
Zable bracelet and beads
The Mint
Perfume
A new camera
Automatic start for my Pathfinder
But...like you it's just a "secret" wish list :)
I want a nice, comfy glider rocker for when baby comes.
And new bedding.
That's about it, I think?
I mean, I could go on and on about frivolous things that I'd love to have if money were no object, but realistically, the above is what I really want this year...
i am dying for a mandolin slicer from willams sonoma.
an itunes gift card so my hubby's not like, "another $2.18 to itunes?!?!?"
and of course, peace on earth.
I want to replace my car - it has 175K miles on it! But it still runs fine and it's paid off, so I'll live with it.
I guess my most reasonable wish list item is new towels. I want some really nice, big, fluffy ones. Like the Ralph Lauren ones. My Target ones are all beat up and faded!
Maybe Santa will being me a new car with some towels in the trunk! ROFL
I had to laugh!! I want new sheets/comforter too. I'll be buying them for myself :-)
If you are married - give your list to your husband. You may or may not get everything you want but this will help him soooo much! There is NO reason to feel guilty for wanting stuff. We Mom's are experts at feeling guilty!
Best wishes,
M.
I want a new, bigger house. That's really it. I am tired of having to fix the next thing that breaks in this one. The house was built in 1977 and there was so much of the original stuff when we bought it 8 years ago and we're constantly replacing the next thing that finally gives up the ghost. There isn't enough room for our family so we're living on top of each other and it's driving us all insane. My husband works from home, I home school the kids and of course I'm a SAHM so we really LIVE in the house..all the time. The master bedroom is split 3 ways! Husband and my bedroom, youngest's bedroom and husband's home office. Talk about crowded!
We believe we are at least not underwater like so many people are but we're still stuck with the inability to sell and buy a new place.
So..for Christmas I want the housing market to get fixed!
What do I want? I want curtains for my living room!! Or the iphone 4. But they are soooo not in the budget! Not happening.
Would love to have a new lens for my camera oh the pictures I could take 500.00. Sigh
no drama from the crazies in our families is my Christmas wish.
since that won't happen, I would like hubby to leave the house so professionals can come steam clean the nasty tile and grout, clean the house, and wash all the windows
I am so BORING!
I am thinking of buying a new couch and loveseat because this one is looking so torn up and it is uncomfortable. i am going back to the dual reclining real leather or maybe microfiber because it is softer
Wow... I haven't even thought of it. My material-items-only list:
Smartwool knee-hi socks. (cold tootsies!)
A gift certificate to Powell's books (and an afternoon there, alone!)
A new, fun poncho in some lovely warm, spicy colors OR
A warm, fleece-lined hoodie
A gift certificate to the local plant nursery
A load of bricks for the garden (edging a bed)
A trip to the lingerie boutique for new bras
A haircut
A pound of Han Shan tea from Upton Tea Company
and if possible, someone to come and 'do' my marmoleum floor in the kitchen. Even one of these would be wonderful.
Nice mental getaway question!
I already bought one item for myself. It was delivered yesterday and is so big I had to take off the front door to get it inside. It's a kitchen island. Oak top, 31"x50" with a spice rack, knife block, towel bars, drawers and two sliding shelves for pots and pans. I designed it myself and a friend I went to high school with who now owns a woodworking shop made it for me. It's BEAUTIFUL! My kitchen looks remodeled just by moving it in! :o)
There are some small items I'd like if anyone were to buy me a gift. I'd like a new comforter set for my bed. I'd love a new Coach purse. A little food processor.
my "want" list is simple.
A bread slicer so I can finally evenly slice my home made bread!!!
My girl friend bought me the Donna Karan purse I'd had my eye on. She's being mean and making wait for Christmas!! :)
Other than that - seriously? Got the sheets, the perfume, earrings (that I don't wear anymore either) so I would LOVE to be able to have a day off...where I don't hear "Mom- where's my XXX?" "mom - can I have Christoper (or insert another name) over?" "mom will you please...." just one day...
I really want furniture. It is so expensive though! Hopefully we can afford one of the following though:
Mattress (ours is 10 years old, and I have not had a good nights sleep in about 3!
Desk (I work from home at the coffee table)
Oversized chair for curling up and reading (our front room has nothing in it except a book shelf)
I would love a decent camera; I have stopped taking photos because they always turn out poorly because my camera is a junker.
Would also love Dance Central 2 for Kinect. I usually dance it up a few times a week with Dance Central 1 with my 3 year old and it is time for some new songs/dances!
My hubby is pretty good about surprising me so it will be fun to see what he comes up with.
I' d like to have the latest NEEDTOBREATHE cd and tickets to their concert in denver in march, new sheets & big fluffy towels, a working dryer (ours quit 2 D. ago), a huge gift card to hancock fabrics so I can get all the material to make drapes/curtains for the entire house & stock up on buckets of yarn & time to go get said material...sans kids.
Oh, and a partridge in a pear tree for good measure :-)
Have a wonderful thanksgiving!
Kindle and it comes today!!!!! It is never a secret what I want. :)
My material needs are really simple. I'm always delighted with a new, warm scarf, or socks with no toe seams, or slippers without memory-foam footbeds, which cause my toes horrible pain. Music is deeply important to me, so an itunes gift card is a hit any time.
And a customized drawing from my grandson is pure delight.
I want new furniture for every room, the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Uggs, North Face long winter coat, Pampered Chef pots and pans and a bigger kitchen :)
Honestly I want the new DYSON vacuum, awww it looks so nice and I always hear great things about it..And a pretty bra from victoria secret one of those really nice lace ones with matching undies :)
I want my house remodel to be over (so money to hire people to finish it, so my husband can quit working on it all day Saturday and Sunday for the next year). I want an Eames lounge chair. I would like a nice matching pendant and earring set. I would like to be told to go pick out any five to ten books from Barnes and Noble. Oh, and new food processor...mine is slowing coming apart one cracked piece of plastic at a time. While I am in materialistic mode...a Xoom tablet, family photos (that I don't have to schedule, plan for, dress everyone and totally coordinate), a new comforter (mines has a hole rubbed in one side and a purple permanent marker smiley face on the other). Oh oh oh...the side of my mini van fixed.
I guess that is all my worldly wants...but I can live without any of them.
I'd love a pedicure and to have highlights professionally done just because I wanted them.
I want my Snoogle pregnancy pillow replaced. I bought it when I was pregnant with my 1st (now 5) and I STILL love it.
I'd love new living room furniture, but I am not ready to spend that much money yet.
The reality is that I am SO lucky that my kids and husband will be having a killer Christmas. I have been working really hard buying the things on their lists for about 6 months now.
I want the limited edition project runway sweing machine going on sale at walmart for black friday... "look what santa brought me! wow how did he know???"
I want (in no particular order): a new purse, perfume, cash to spend on my mini-cruise in January, a massage, an actual diamond engagement ring, a Starbucks gift card large enough so that I could go whenever I wanted for the next year, the Adele cd, a new car, ummm....I'm sure I'll think of more.
Honestly, all I want is to be able to buy my 4 daughters presents this year. I've always been able to shower them with presents, but this year has been really rough, especially these last 2 months, so that is my only wish, honestly.
My 18 year old daughter is just like this....she has NEVER asked for anything for Christmas. I have managed to come through with some pretty cool, off the wall things. My daughter is very creative and generous as well!
I am paid a huge part of my income in quarterly commissions...that was last Friday. It's almost always a guess, we don't really know until the check is deposited....so I don't spend it before. I am the proud owner of a new Coach purse and this very cool watch ($150, not bad) and banked the rest. So things like these or the massages I do for myself without guilt.
Not to be forgotten, I still want my Ex-Husband that I wanted when Rachel D. asked this back in September. It's moving along well though :)
In no order: Someone else to clean my house! Another bookshelf (we still have some boxes of books to unload). The nice bicycle I tried out yesterday ($539??? Not gonna happen). New sheets. A massage and pedicure. 3 specific charms for my bracelet. Another date night. I'm easy, but those are things I'd like.
A video cam to record my kiddos and their antics!
I still really don't know what I want for Christmas...
I need a new car, but that's not in the budget. My sweet CRV will have to limp along for another 50k miles...
I'd like a Pandora bracelet...
Other than that -- I don't need anything or really want anything...
I prefer to give the gifts...
LBC
i want a laptop=) Yea not getting that one...i dont believe anyone is getting M. gifts this year...last year was the same way...oh well...everyones poor
My husband just asked me that. He said he is having a hard time figuring out something for me this year (he usually is a fabulous gift-giver and I rarely mention anything specific--maybe a particular book or something, but nothing big usually). I have no ideas. I am reading all your responses to see if something rings a bell with me.
I have always felt like I would like having a nice pair of diamond stud earrings (nothing gaudy, just a nice pair), but I am not just dying to have them. It's one of those "one day" items... Like when we've been married 25 years or something... 15 is coming up, so maybe in another 10 years. lol
I really want a genuine signed autographed picture of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
Mostly, just some new clothes. A gift certificate for a haircut and some new makeup would be nice. A Wine Country gift basket would be nice too. Since Dh has been out of work for some time, I don't actually expect these things this year!
A day to myself full of sunshine.
