I just bought a DVD player for the car and it has the TV screens that just strap onto the headrests (so it's portable from car to car). I am really happy with my purchase as we tend to go on long trips (90 minutes) and it's useful to have to keep my little girl entertained. My question is:
What do you use to store the screens while they are not being used? (like when you are out shopping and you don't want someone to steal it).
I want to have something easy to use that will keep is out of the way, help keep it safe from breaking, and keep it out of the heat so nothing melts etc.
Any ideas?

Do you have a back-of-the-seat pocket? That's where I stash my child's DSi.
You could just shove them under the seat or throw a sweater over them on the seat. Just keep them out of sight.
Is this for the 4 1/2 year old? It makes a difference when ya read on lol. Do you carry a backpack for her, snacks/ toys/ cup/ change of clothes? If so, you could put it in that so you don't look crazy walking around with a portable dvd player lol. I bought a case logic mountable set that uses the 2 headrests to strap to. I mention this because it comes with a case for 7-10" dvd players for $28. It comes in handy and has a carrying handle. That's what I do. If I wouldn't be gone long I'd just stick it under the seat so you can't see it from the outside of the car. When I have my daughter's little backpack (which I tend to keep on me on long trips to carry water, etc for hiking) I stick it in there if it's going to be really hot in the truck.
Check the temperature that it can handle, should be somewhere in the manual or something. Most have high temp tolerance.
I'm thinking perhaps a nice isulated tote bag.. like you get for taking frozen foods home from the store. I know Sam's Club sells a nice one of these.
Not sure where else you can purchase them, but they should be fairly readily available.
We live in Texas. The heat is a real issue. I have a small insulated cooler, like an insulated lunch box, I shove them in when needed. It's black, so I hope with the tinted windows it's less noticeable and that someone will merely think it's a forgotten lunch.
I have a small zippered tote that I put them in the shove under the seat.
You can purchase a mini dvd player case or a an ipad sleeve may work (depending on the size of your dvd player) from anywhere that sells electronics. They usually cost about $20 each, but I bought some from Target off the clearance shelf for $5. HTH :) ******** Manufacturers warn against storing electronics in extreme temperatures. Vehicles tend to get very hot or very cold in different seasons. That can cause damage to the device and or/ its battery. :)
