My DH works for a Customer service company called Alpine Access. They contract out for CS reps. He happens to work for XBox. They serve many other companies. He works from home. We had to buy some equipment, but it has been great. He has health issues, so now he doesn't have to drive to work. He just goes from the bed to the office.

I own my own company, the whole thing, not an MLM that I "own" my part. I used to be in an MLM, but found that I had to work way too hard to get such a small return, and most of that went back into the business. No thanks. It does work for some, but not for me. I have a friend who became an ebay expert and buys things on sale and resells them. She made a significant income doing that. But, it takes a lot of time and work. She figured out what sells really well, and pursued those items. Some women blog. If you are a good writer, have a niche topic, you can blog. Once you get more readers, you can start charging for advertising. Many women do this extremely well. I look forward to reading the other ideas you get!

You've got little ones, right? Sell their outgrown clothes and other not-needed items on craigslist or ebay. Kids stuff goes like hotcakes!

There are a lot of legitamate work from home jobs in CS and tech support. Last year I did some research for a neighbor on this and found quite a few. What kept her from applying was the fact that you have to have a good space set aside for your work and no distractions and she has 3 kids.

I sell Pampered Chef. Love their products and the fact that I work at my own pace, make my own schedule since I have four kids.

You can try the public school district. They need substitutes and tutors and these are flexible positions most of the time and pay is decent varying with the public school districts. Down side is that you get paid once a month.

I'm a Mary Kay consultant. It pay for 3 kids preschool tuition as well as dance tuition and my extras. I work around my kids and husband's schedule and love my job!

I babysit, clean houses, tend the neighbors' yards and/or sidewalks depending on the weather, buy groceries for others and am a Mary Kay consultant as well.

you could do drop off and pick up at school for a friend's kids or keep someone's child(ren) in your home. That's my plan in the fall. I wanted one full year with my baby where I had no obligations but her.

A few suggestions:

--Virtual assistant for small business owners. Phone is forwarded to you, you serve as a personal assistant w/ scheduling, calls, etc.
--Personal shopper. Advertise to friends and family that you'll do their shopping (Christmas, groceries, etc.) for a fee.
--Personal errand runner. Run errands for people (mail, pick up dry cleaning, shopping, get car fixed at mechanic's, etc.)
--Selling a product. There are lots of sales opportunities out there. I sell Thirty-One products. (www.mythirtyone.com/reacesmith). A friend of mine sells Stella and Dot jewelry; another Scentsy; another created her own business around hair accessories for little girls.
--Babysit. Friends want to get out to go shopping without kids. Some need temporary childcare.
--Get on Twitter (create an account) and follow @NorthTexasLEAD, @GetHired and other job feeds. You'd be amazed at the jobs listed throughout the day.
