She needs to go to a doctor. You said she's 5 months old. I think 11lbs is quite small for a 5 month old child. We are not doctors:( Please take her to one:)

Okay... since I don't know your situation, but know that your baby is ONLY 5 months old, I would suggest taking the baby completely off of solid food right now. You're feeding her solids far, far too often and she's too little to have that much solid food. She's also too little to have stage 2 food yet. Her digestive system is only developed enough for stage 1. But that's a moot point as she's not thriving on solids and it's not increasing her body weight.

She needs nutrition from her formula/breastmilk. Feeding her the solids is keeping her from getting enough nutrition. Solids should NOT be the main source of her nutrition until she at least one year old. She should be getting a majority of formula or breastmilk until she's one year old.

Please go back to basics on her feeding. Stop all solids and go back to the liquid diet of formula or breastmilk.

Next, make an appointment with your pediatrician. Get yourself educated on proper nutrition for a baby. Get a referral to a pediatric nutritionist if you have to. If your baby has spitting up problems and you think solids will fix it, stop. The solids will make it worse. Go see a pediatric gastroenterologist, who will run some tests AND hook you up with a nutritionist after determining what the health issues actually are. They can also make sure that the baby is on the proper dose of tummy medicine.

Infants should only be drinking breast milk or formula for nutrition for the first year.

Feeding solid foods once in a while is so they get a taste of different foods.

If your baby continues to drop weight then you really need to take her to the doctor.

You've asked this same thing 3x in the last week. If you are this concerned, you really need to take her to the doctor. Good luck.

I'm guessing the weight loss began when you started solid foods?
She's not digesting the solid food well yet- she can't absorb it - she's too young.
Feed her formula (or breast milk) till she's close to a year old.
It wouldn't hurt to take her into the doctor and have her checked out.

If she is under 7 months old she may be starving. Baby food has no nutrition to it. She needs formula all the time. The baby food fills her tummy but offers nothing. She is eating flavored goo. She needs the vitamins and nutrients in the formula or breast milk. If she is older then she may not be doing well with the baby food. A doc should see her and evaluate her health.

No offense, but we are not doctors & can't tell you what's wrong with your baby or what to do about the problem. If your baby is losing weight & you don't know why, and she's on Zantac, yeah, you really need to get her to a doctor.

Did you take her to the doctor again since your last post? You MUST take her to the doctor. Did you write a food diary? You need something to show the doctors that you have been feeding her. If you don't get this handled, social services will take your baby away.

Go camp out at the doctors office with your supply of formula. Don't leave until you and the baby have been seen. Ask the doctor if the baby belongs in the hospital.

Things are getting very dicey here and you must take action.

My prayers are with you, A....

Based on the Zantac, I assume reflux?

Have you asked about thickened feedings? With some rice cereal? You have to alter your nipples (on bottles of course). It worked for mine.

My daughter lost weight between 12 and 15 months since she did not like milk and I put her back on a formula (pediasure). But your baby should still be on formula or breast milk and certainly not on stage 2. Stage 1 you start at about 6 months. Go back to breast feeding only or to formula. The Zantac means she has reflux? Go back to the doctor, but stop the baby food, stick with formula or breast feeding.
