We make home made mac and cheese with it. Just substitute the Velveeta for the regular cheese. It is actually really good, and I hate velveeta.
I had a coupon for a free box of velveeta cheese (1 lb). My husband is lactose intolerant can can't have it at all. But the kids and I can. Does anyone have a little kid velveeta favorite recipe I can make so we can eat at lunch while dad is at work?
My kids are 19 months and 3 years old.

S., you can melt about a 1/4 of it and mix it with a bit of milk and make mac and cheese, or you can melt some again, and make nachos with it, or use it as a dip, mix it with some chili for a chili and cheese dip or just alone as a chip dip, or take a slice of it and make grlled cheese sandwhiches, just enjoy ilfe and have a good day, D. s
You can chunk some of it up and put some salsa with it and melt it in the micro, stir occassionally, for a chip did. kraft website will have the best ideas and recipes.
I use it to make mac&cheese. if want recipe just let me know it is super easy and only takes about 10-15 min to make.
I make tuna cassarole with it, in baking pan cut up cheese can of cream of chicken soup, tuna, a little butter, milk and cooked noodles then add pee's if you want. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for about 1/2 hour, then about 5 minutes uncovered. I don't have an exact recipe I just kinda throw things together but my daughter loves it.
Is Velveeta actually cheese? Your husband may be able to eat it!
Goto www.kraftfoods.com and put Velveeta in the search area. It has 102 recipes that call for it! Good luck!
I usually make a Cheese fondue with it. Then I have broccoli, carrots, caluiflower or Italian bread cubed with chopsticks to dip the stuff into the fondue. You can also go to www.kraftfoods.com for several different recipes for velvetta. There is even one for fudge. I am not sure how this would come out. You can always cut the brick in half and do a couple different things with it.
I also make macaroni and cheese, in the crockpot. Just google velveeta crockpot macaroni and cheese. Or cut it intio chunks and mix it with a can of Rotel tomatoes and microwave to melt for a spicy dip for tortilla chips.
You could probably google a recipe for homemade mac & cheese.
Or cheese broccoli soup, potato cheese soup.
Or just go to Kraft's website, they will have recipes you could try.
Enjoy!!
This is actually a dessert, not a lunch and this sounds not very appetizing, but it really is good!
Chocolate Fudge
8 oz. Velveeta cheese
1 c. butter, softened
5 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
1/2 c. dry milk
2 t. vanilla
2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
In large saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and cheese and stir frequently until smooth. Remove from heat.
Sift together powdered sugar and cocoa; add to cheese, stirring well.
Stir in dry milk, vanilla, and nuts. Turn into a 9x9x2-inch pan; chill until firm and cut into squares.
S.,
You can cube the Velveeta and put it into a small sauce pan with a little milk to thin it. Melt it over low heat stirring often. Once its melted you can add cooked pasta for Mac and cheese, or pour it over cooked broccoli, or any cooked veggie that you like, or you can pour it over tortilla chips or just put in in a bowl and use it as a dip.
You can also slice it and make grilled cheese sandwiches, or slice it and top a casserole and then heat in the oven until all is melted.
Something I make with velveeta that my boys like is to add a few chunks of it to some homemade gravy and serve over mashed potatoes.
Its also great in Shephards Pie (meat and gravy layer on bottom of cake pan, layer of cooked leftover veggie, layer of sliced velveeta, and then top with leftover mashed potatoes or tator tots then bake 350 degrees for approx 30-40 min).
My kids also like to eat it just as it is, I cube it up for them and they snack on it with some fruit or crackers.
Hi S., I've made this a couple of times and it turns out good. They have the recipe and a picture at kraftfoods.com.
Bacon Cheeseburger Roll-up
1lb. lean ground beef
4 slices bacon, chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 lb. velveeta cut into 1/2 in. cubes
1 pkg.(13.8oz.) refrigerated pizza crust
Preheat oven to 400. cook ground beef, bacon, and onion in skillet until browned. Drain meat and add velveeta, cook until completely melted, stiring frequently. Remove from heat and set aside.
Unroll pizza crust onto baking sheet, sprayed with cooking spray. Press into rectangle and top evenly with meat mix. roll up dough starting at one long side.
Bake 20-25 mins. or until golden brown.
We usually cut it so our son can dip it in BBQ or ketchup and mustard. The whole family actually enjoys it!
We also make Broccoli cheese soup (my aunt's recipe) that it super yummy. If you'd like it I can send it. And velveeta makes the BEST grilled cheese sandwiches. Add tomato soup and you've got a great lunch or dinner!
Velveeta makes the BEST macaroni and cheese. Simply buy elbow noodles, or shells, and make per instructions. Drain the noodles and then return the pot to the stove on very low heat. Add cubes of cheese and some milk and then stir continuously until melted. I adjust the cheese to how cheesie the kids like it.
You can also use it for grilled cheese sandwiches
Have a great day ~ E.
Macoronni and cheese
I make my daughter mac and cheese, she loves it. It's much yummier than the box kind with powder cheese. Is that powder really cheese?
Cook the noodles, drain and return to the pan, add a little milk and chunks of the Velveeta, put this back on the stove on low and stir until the cheese is melted. Enjoy!
I never like velveeta as a substitute for real cheese, but there is this recipe called "Velveeta Chili Dip" that is really good - especially with fritos! This is the recipe my husband's family has been making for years. Just put it in a crock pot or melt it all over low heat in the stove:
* 1 (1 pound) package Velveeta Cheese
* 1 can Chili - no beans
* 1 pound medium or spicy sausage, browned and crumbled
