P.W.
I don't thing you are doing anything wrong. Just keep trying different things. Sleeping problems with children is an age old problem.
Hang in there.
Since about 10 1/2 months my son who usually slept through the night now wakes up at all different times 12am, 2am,4am?? Sometimes for 3 hours crying histerically. I'm so tired, He is teething and when he's crying his hands are always on his gums which leads me to believe that this is the only reason for this. Tylenol, Motrin, Teething Tablets he seems to be resistant to. I give him a nice warm bath everynight. I try to put him in bed with me and comfort him, hold him, hum to him. EVERYTHING! Last night I even gave him a baba with water and a drop of juice since he was making sounds with his mouth like he was thirsty. He drank so much and was thirst but still would not fall alseep. Soo Tired, Has anyone else been through this. My mother sees how exhausted I am and has offered to take him for sleep overs on Friday night because of this but I just want to find a solution. Thanks.
Oh, and I have called the pediatrician and she believes it's his teeth and told me to take the teething tablets and motrin which does not seem to help.

How long have you been putting him to bed with you since this has started? He may be waking from sleep cycles in the night and looking for you and this may last a while until you get back to routine again so be prepared for that. Try damping a wash cloth and stick it in the freezer and giving it to him to chew on. That helped with our daughter.
I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Teething can be pretty painful for some babies. Besides itchy gums and all the drool and upset stomach that can come with with all that drool, the pain in the jaws can radiate to the ears and sinuses. You can try numbing up his gums for awhile with the teething gel, beside the Motrin. Some babies like chewing on something cold, others don't. My son use to have a stuffed vibrating turtle. He'd hit the turtles back and it would vibrate for a min or two (and play a tune), and he'd put the turtles head in his mouth and bite it and he loved the vibration on his gums.
Your not doing anything wrong but there may be more things you can do. first are you sure he is not hungry? you mention a bottle of water/juice. But do you stuff him with cereal or a babyfood right before bed? we always had to do that with our boys or they got up hungry in the night. and while they would drink down a bottle they were still hungry for something more solid. also I have no idea what teething tablets are but get some ora jel and slather it all over his gums to numb them it will help a lot.

Maybe instead of juice give him some milk. It might also be growing pains so he's probably hungry. And It's more relaxing to have milk than a sugary drink (watered down or not). Also whe my son goes through teething and growing pains (ok all the time) he sleeps in his crib till he's wants to sleep with me around 10, then he sleeps like an angel.
You might ask your pedi if he might have reflux, both of my kids did and when it was discovered, it was like night and day! good luck
