I am so upset- WFAA had decided not to show Charlie Brown Christmas and Prep & Landing (a highly publicized NEW Pixar holiday special) in order to show a special Good Morning Texas show. They are moving these 2 kids shows to 3 am on Saturday. I am furious as my son has been looking forward to seeing the Pixar show since it was first advertised.
I wrote a complaint on their website, but not sure if anyone knows how to really make a complaint about this that would get results...
Just thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone else cared!
Wanted to let everyone know that I got a response from WFAA. They are going to show it during normal hours later.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas” on Tuesday, December 15 at 7 p.m. and “Disney Prep & Landing” on Wednesday, December 16 at 7 p.m.
Here is the response:
Thanks so much for your email, and let me offer a sincere apology. I do have some good news, and an explanation. First, tonight’s preempted “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Disney Prep & Landing” have been rescheduled to air overnight Friday, December 11, 3:05-4:05 a.m. (for those wishing to record and view at a later date). ABC will also televise an encore telecast of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on Tuesday, December 15 at 7 p.m. and “Disney Prep & Landing” on Wednesday, December 16 at 7 p.m.
I wanted to also tell you that as an ABC affiliate WFAA is entitled to preempt about 24 hours of programming a year, which we do for Family First specials, Dallas Symphony Orchestra performances, Dale Hansen Sports Specials and, in this case, an “After Dark” edition of Good Morning Texas. We planned this GMT special months ago, long before ABC scheduled and announced the Disney program and the Charlie Brown Special.
What compounded all of this is the fact that the network schedules announcements that promotes the programs that are to be preempted, and does not always let us know. If we had a better road map, so to speak, we would be able to cover the “promos” with something different, and cut down on the confusion. We will have a conversation about that one, however in the meantime, let me offer an apology for any issue it may have caused.
We’re parents too, and understand disappointment like that.
Thank you for your thoughtful email, and for providing an opportunity to repond. I hope you will be able to redirect to the other airings of the programs in question.
Respectfully,
Dave Muscari

Thank you for sharing this information. My kids have been anticipating the Prep & Landing special for 2 weeks, as they were originally advertising it online to air last Tuesday, December 1. We had the DVD recorder set and ready to record it tonight and I just saw your note. How very disappointing. I will definitely be sending an email to WFAA as well. Thanks again for the info!
Blessings,
N.

I was sooo glad to see this post. I was mad about this as well. We do not have cable and these Christmas shows have been a big family treat. We can't DVR the replay as I imagine they expect many to do. They should have had a disclaimer or some notice to forewarn us that we would be missing out. I just emailed my unhappiness last night. I went to the "contact us" link and emailed the programming people. I hope they get flooded with unhappy emails. Their response was as follows:
Thank you for writing.
Tonight's preempted "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "Disney Prep & Landing" have been rescheduled to air overnight Friday, December 11 (technically Saturday, December 12), 3:05-4:05 a.m.
ABC will also televise an one-hour version of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on Tuesday, December 15, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and an encore of "Disney Prep & Landing" on Wednesday, December 16 , 7:00-7:30 p.m.
We apologize for any inconvenience the rescheduling of these specials may cause. Let us know if we can be of additional assistance.
Best regards,
Ann Clark

Very upset family as well over here!!! We will be contacting WFAA to voice our opinions over the management of programs. WFAA has to know that children look forward to things they are promised, I can see missing last week due to the president but this week is just ridiculous!
