Went off the Mini Pill

I just went off the mini pill after being on it for 7 months. How long should it take to get a period? I haven't had a period in 17 months unless you count birth 8 months ago. I guess I was expecting it to come rather quickly.

What can I do next?

Random: I didn't get my first period until 8 months after my last child, but I did nurse her for the first six also....

I've been told it's different for everyone but typically 3 months is what you should expect before you're able to conceive again....I've always gotten my period immediately (the first month) after discontinuing BC. I don't think that indicates fertility, however.

Are you still breast feeding? If so, this can prevent you from having a period, but it doesn't mean you can't get pregnant (if that's what you want to do). If you are not breastfeeding, then you should talk to your doctor.

I went off that pill when my daughter was 6 months old and I did not have a period until she was almost 2! I must admit I loved it! My doctor said that that was normal since my body was used to being pregnant and then nursing for six months. She just told me to enjoy it and for some people it does take a while for their bodies to get back to normal.

If you are still breast feeding you may not have a period anytime soon. Enjoy it while it lasts. LOL! I think it took a couple of months for me to have a cycle.
