I went to the E.R. yesterday morning and they said that I was in the process of having another miscarriage. I have been cramping but no bleeding. The doctor said my pregnancy hormone was going down so I was miscarriageing. I had a miscarriage in July and bled alot. I wonder what is going on. Anyone else experience this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I ended up going to the doctor on Friday. They took blood and then did a vaginal ultrasound. I won't know anything intill Wednesday. Sucks that this had to happen right before a holiday. Want to thank everyone for their responses.

It happened to me, my midwife at the time called it a missed miscarriage. The fetus died inside me but I never bled it out. They gave me 2 options either wait it out see if it comes out or make an appt to schedule a D&C. I scheduled to have the D&C I didnt want to be out n about and start bleeding. I was in and out the same day.

When I had a miscarriage like that I just bled like a normal period. I had a lot more cramping but not a lot of bleeding. They gave me some meds for the pain and told me to check back with my doctor to make sure there was no more tissue left in my uterus when I was done bleeding. I hope this helps. Good luck!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, please don't blame yourself. The most common cause of miscarriage is chromosomal abnormalilities and this has nothing to do with you or your partner. It's estimated that 1 in 36 women will miscarry at least twice in her lifetime due to nothing but the above mentioned. Of course there are other issues that can contribute such as multiple pregnancies (the uterus becomes thinned after repeated pregnancy and it makes things a little difficult), diabetes, smoking (this one is pretty big, it means less oxygen to you=less to the fetus), and maternal age. There have been studies that say you should wait at least one cycle after your miscarriage to get pregnant again or you may have a higher chance of another miscarriage. In order to ensure you baby has every chance before you try again you might want to make sure you are taking your vitamins, eating right, and getting some exercise. I know this is a bit long winded but I hope it helps some. I know this is a hard time for you and your mate and I wish you well next time.

I am very sorry for your loss.

I had to use progesterone suppositories with my pregnancies, as I threatened to miscarry each one. They worked for me. Maybe something to ask your doctor about.

Take care.

I had two miscarriages when my daughter was two. The miscarriages were about 6 months apart and similiar to your decription. After several test, I found out that I had hyperthyroidism and this was causing the miscarriages ( very common ). I ended up having my thyroid taken out however by that time I decided not to have anymore children (I have a 30 year old, a 22 year old and a 7 year old, I was 42 when I had the miscarriges). This all took place about 5 years ago. Hope this helps, good luck.

I never produce enough progesterone during Pregnancy and that is what caused my miscarriages this is not something that the dr checks for so you need to ask him to check you progesterone levels next time you get pregnant so you can be put on the medication via pills or suppositories. Good luck.
C. PS I now have two beautiful girl’s 2y/o and almost 5 y/o:)

When I had my miscarriage I was about eight weeks along and I had light spotting for almost four days then started cramping and heavier bleeding. I never had any real heavy bleeding and after it was over I did not bleed hardly at all. The doctor could hardly tell I had had a miscarriage. I am sorry for your loss. Hope this helps and hang in there.

I had my son, and between 10-16 months later, I had two early (6-7 weeks) miscarriages. I bled like a heavy period. After the second one, I had a "normal" period, and after it ended, I thought I ovulated (may have), but 5 days later, I had another "normal" period. Then I got pregnant with my second child (due next week). I took progesterone via vaginal suppositories for the first twelve weeks, and this pregnancy took, but I'm not sure if I needed them or not. Just really wanted to be pregnant.

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriages.
