I was thinking Graves too, but nevertheless, it sounds like you need a full work up. Blood analysis and everything. Hope you find some answers.
Hi, Ladies! I have 2 weird things going on, which may or may not be related. First, I am pale as a ghost. It started when I was pregnant and I pointed it out to a nurse practitioner - she said I had "pregnancy paleness." I had never heard of that and thought it sounded weird, but since she wasn't worried about it, I didn't worry, either. Well, my baby is now 8 months old and I am still just as pale. It's an unhealthy looking pale, and I did spend some time in the sun this summer so it's not just lack of sunlight. Now something else is going on. When I see photos of myself, my eyes are way too wide open - I look like a crazy person. I don't feel crazy, and my eyes don't look like that when I look in the mirror - apparently just when I smile or laugh. They're so wide open my eyebrows are up and you can see the whites above my eyes. My internet searches haven't come up with anything so I thought I would ask if anyone here had any ideas of what is going on.

Have you checked into Grave's Disease? It's got to do with an overactive thyroid.
Have you had your thyroid checked? Overactive thyroid can cause eyes to bulge in a condition called exophthalmos.
Put your picture up on your profile and we'll tell ya if ya look crazy or not ;)
Yep. I was going to mention Grave's Disease too. I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid 6 years ago. My eyes kind of took on that wild-eyed look for awhile too. I don't remember being extremely pale, but it was caught because I had shortness of breath, fluttery feelings in my chest and being hot and cold a lot. I thought I had a sinus infection to be honest. At any rate, you need to have it checked out. If it is your thyroid out of whack, it is very easy to manage, but if it goes unchecked it can lead to a plethora of health problems as that little organ is involved in every system in your body. Good luck!

Go to your primary care physician and have a full check up done - blood work and all - ask for a thyroid analysis as well as your iron levels. Anemia can show up as "paleness" but the eyes lead me to believe it's the thyroid.
Ask a doctor. Loss of color seems a bit odd. The eye thing is odd also. Don't take a nurses word as a doctors educated word. No offence to the nurses but sometimes they diagnose people when they have not looked at all the symptoms and often they see all the symptoms and dont realize its something else. Example: neighbor kid had a head to toe rash. a nurse which happened to be there aunt said it was an allergic reaction to detergent or soap. my daughter goes to the same daycare across the street that the son with the rash does. my daughter gets a crazy head to toe pin prick rash and i take her to the pedi. the pedi nurse (same neighbor aunt nurse) says the same thing its an allergic reaction. but the doctor looks at my baby girls hands and feet and figures out quickly that she had hand foot and mouth dieses (sp) no big deal but little details like that are often looked over with nurses. dont get me wrong God bless our nurses for they are there to help us when in need and can often debunk a doctor too.
Was thinking Graves, also.
