So I changed our 6 months old diaper today and it looked like her poop had black tiny strings in it. And also last couple times it had "sour" smell(gross I know) She is mostly breastfed(some organic formula, not often), but had veggie puffs couple of days ago, fresh banana and I give her gripe water for gas(ones a day).I am going to call the doctor tomorrow but wanted to check here first. (I run to the doctor for every little thing(by the 3rd child you would think I'd be more relaxed:)) TIA

black in stools would be a red flag for me i would call the dr asap
Once you have kids, poop stops being gross and becomes an obsession! LOL! I don't know what would cause the strings... unless maybe the banana digested funny or something. I have never had that happen with my DD though...
It's the banana! I had this exact same thing happen to one of the babies in my class at the childcare about a yr ago. The mom did call the dr and it was the banana... It IS weird!
Banana will leave the strings. And those veggie puffs make my son's poop smell sour. Its gross.
