"It's a small world after all"
It REALLY is!
That's awesome :)
This is why I continue to love "the facebook."
To hell with all the naysayers, lol!!!
I just found out my cousin, who now lives half a world away is FB friends with the sister of one of my BFFs in Jr. High school! I saw the sister's comment on my cousin's FB page one day and I thought "surely there can't be 2 people with the same name from the same town" (she has an unusual name). So I searched the sister's friend list, found my long lost BFF and sent her a message asking if she is the same person and she was! We've now re-connected and its been pretty fun.
But that is just weird I found her on my cousin's site. Apparently, my cousin and the sister go to the same church somewhere near Singapore. Weird, right?

My brothers wifes fathers second wifes daughter is married to a guy I went to jr. high with...now say it five times fast...
One of my husbands ex girlfriends is a friend of mine. Someone commented on her page the other day who turned out to be my husbands ex wife's ex boyfriend.
It's not a FB connection, but I joined a Mommy's group and one of the girls in it's husband went to the same college that I did and is best friends with the 2nd husband (she's on her 3rd now) of my husband's ex wife. So sometimes I end up in convos with the guy on FB and it's pretty weird.
Well, I guess it did turn out to be a kind of FB connection after all. :-)
I have moved across country a few times.
While in Vegas I taught with a gal, and she and her husband allowed us to live with them for 2 weeks while we were in transition from our apt. to our house. My mom got sick a year later, and we moved back to IN to care for her. 7 years later, we are living in MN. We connected via FB and found out we were both living in MN about 30 minutes from each other! We got together once, and we moved back to IN a few months later.
Now in IN, I found that a friend from college is also friends with someone I met at my daughter's preschool. My college friend and my new friend met each other years ago, nearly 60 miles away from where my new friend and I live now.
I think it's just a matter of time before we all are connected via FB! LOL The 6 degrees of ________, will be an easy game to play.
My husband has half-siblings both from his mom and his dad, but only really knows the ones he grew up with with their mom - his dad essentially abandoned him when he was 2 and he has never heard from the man, met him, or had any contact with him. But the guy went on to father something like 8 more kids with 4 other women, and one of them (a half-sister) found me on FB. My hubby had met some of them by chance before, but not this one in particular. Apparently he's got a whole bunch more half-siblings because of his dad that he pretty much never knew about.
I also got contacted by a distant cousin still living in "the old country" of Poland - I think she's the grandaughter or great-granddaughter of one of my grandfather's brothers that stayed behind!
how cool is that!!!? HOW GREAT FOR YOU TO RECONNECT!!
I found a girlfriend from elementary and middle school on LinkedIn!! I couldn't believe my luck!!! She doesn't "do" facebook, but we are e-mailing now!!!
I had been looking for my niece & nephew. Haven't seen or talked to them in 30 yrs. I tried calling and the number had been disconnected. Tried looking for them on people search, but there was $$$ involved. I started looking for them on FB, nothing............... Then one day, I decided to search for my nephew and found a young man that looked exactly like my brother. I sent him a message, accepted his friend request, and also became friends with my niece!!! Thank God and thank you FB!!!!!
It doesn't have to be FB! By chance one year I found out that one of the teacher's husband's brother's son was married to my cousin's daughter. He died not too long after their daughter was born. Then last week I was watching House Hunters on HGTV and saw my cousin's daughter and her new husband searching for a new hme to start their new life in. Small world.
That whole 6 degrees of separation thing.
Shows you what a really small world we live in.
Congratulations on reconnecting with your long ago friend.
Yes! My cousin's ex-wife is friends with a really close friend of mine. It's not like we are from a small community, either. My cousin is in the midwest and we are in the south! LOL!
It's a small small world. You ever heard of that movie "Six Degrees of Separation"?
I used to think this country was so big until I got on Facebook and found that many of my friends know eachother from different parts of the country than I know them from.
My good friend met a guy on match.com, we found out through Facebook that his sister's boyfriend was my long lost cousin, and I went to high school with his best friends girlfriend! I've seen many other random connections between people I know since then, I guess it really is a small world after all!
