Yes, it's funny though, I'm so out of touch with what the kids are listening to these days that I'm going to have to search out the original songs.
I've always loved Weird Al, and will likely show Kiddo both Beat It and Eat It sometime soon. (did--- he thought they were both funny, go figure) Al's a good example of how talent can be so fleeting that unless you really have a good schtick, you get your fifteen minutes of fame and that's it. I think he's had at least an hour or so.... ;)
And if you listen to this interview, it's amazing that he somehow landed a 30 year recording contract in a business which is known for the big chew'em up and spit'em out treatment:

And it was kinda cool to hear Kiddo singing "Word Crimes! I hate those word crimes..." at the park today. I think he takes after his mom on that one...
