I went to the doctor today. I have 10 days left til my due date. I lost 4 pounds. I am not dialated at all. The doctor was not worried about the weight loss but the nurse said a lot of times this is a sign the baby is coming soon. Has anyone else had this happen? Did the baby soon follow?

What can I do next?

Unless it were a significant amount of weight, I'd not bother with it at all. Besides, anytime you get weighed you can always consider that your true weight could fluctuate as much as 5 pounds heavier or lighter. Seeing as how you've lost 4 pounds, there are a lot of things that could explain it.

You would probably be a better judge as to when your baby is coming since you've already had 3 and know how your body has reacted in the past.

Yes, happened with all three of mine, losing weight at the end... yet all three were 2-3 weeks late, and induced... the weightloss was just a warning to me that the doctor would soon finally agree to induction! haha

Hang in there! Hoping your nurse is right!!

My son is now 8 months and I lost 8 lbs a month before he was due! He came 2 weeks later, and was 2 weeks early! Good luck and congrats!!

It's absolutely normal to lose a few pounds the last few weeks of pregnancy. And no, it doesn't mean the baby is coming soon, unfortunately.

Congrats on the new baby!
