I have had much success and it really isn't a diet but a lifestyle. I would reccomend it to anyone.
Help I need realistic ways to lose weight without any diet pills. Do the meal replacement bars really work?

No, the meal bars are not helpful or realistic. You need to eat a meal that fills your stomach, because that's the only realistic way for a human to live. FACT: If you don't FEEL full that you AREN'T full. A meal bar won't make you feel full, no matter how much the label says you've had a complete meal. Feeling full is easy with choosing the right foods. I've lost 38 lbs on Weight Watchers and I can tell you it definitely taught me how to eat properly.
Hi E.,
As far a meal replacement bars - it all depends on what's in them and if they are part of good healthy nutritious plan.
I used a great program that allowed me to lose weight quickly while building muscle and giving my body the best nutrition possible. - I actually got tons of energy. It is not a diet and is really easy to do and you will get coaching.
I lost 30 lbs and 25 inches over a summer and have kept it off -- at the time I did it I was teaching full time and had been for over 20 years. I was tired, lacked energy, had slowly become heavier than ever in my life - and just like you felt the hardest thing about being a mom is finding time for myself.
I would be happy to give you or anyone else the info about this system and yes of course exercise is vital.

Yo-yo diets may work initially, but if you don't stick with it, the weight will just come back and it is really tough on your heart and metabolism. The most realistic and practical way to lose weight is to change your lifestyle. Eat more vegetables (raw if you can) and protein (which keeps you full longer). Even whole grains eventually turn into sugar, so be careful how much you're eating of carbs in general. I don't believe you should eliminate them though. Everything in moderation!
I found that once I increased my raw veggie and meat/egg intake, a lot of my cravings for carb loaded food (and cheese, oh how I craved cheese every day) stopped. Eat smaller portions more frequently, chew slowly, and within a few days your body will adjust to the smaller portions and you'L. feel full sooner. My motivation when I have temptations: I FEEL better when I don't eat the junk. I just have to remind myself of that every time. Find ways to get exercise in (hard when you're a mom, I know, I'm in the same boat) by taking the stairs, parking far away at the grocery store, actually joining your kids in play at the park, or if you have time, take a fun exercise class like aerobics, etc.
The number one thing to remember: if you give in to a bad craving or have something not so healthy - DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP FOR IT. The negative thoughts lead to emotional battles with food and you end up "giving up" and going for more. The best thing is to just say, oh well, that was good and I deserved a little treat and now I'm going to eat healthier for the rest of the day.
I gained about 45 pounds when I was pregnant with my daughter, and after she was born I had about 25 pounds to loose. It took me about 10 weeks to loose it, which some people may argue is unhealthy. However, I am one of the healthiest people I know. People have different bodies, and not everything works for everyone. With that said, this is what I did. I decided to cut out all processed/refined sugar...it was hard for the first couple of days, but after that, I didn't miss it much. Naturally occurring sugars from fruits are still ok :) Next, I switched to an organic/healthy whole foods diet. What this means is that I tried to reduce my intake of processed foods. I ate a lot of fresh fruits, veggies, and only lean proteins (such as fish and chicken). Every morning, I would make myself a protein shake. I would mix frozen berries, nonfat plain yogurt, vanilla whey protein, soy milk, and ice if needed. The shake is really thick, and full of vitamins, so it fills you up. I never took diet pills, or tried meal replacement bars, I just kept things simple and healthy. I exercised about 3 times per week (cardio) for about 30 minutes each session. Anything that will get your heart rate up for about 30 minutes will do. I have an eliptical machine, but I did walk or run sometimes..just to get outside :) The most important thing to remember is to stay away from artificial sweeteners...especially aspartame. It is not safe! It breaks down into formaldehyde, which bioaccumulates in your fat cells, which makes burning fat even harder! Not to mention that you are putting formaldehyde, a known carcinogen, straigt into your body(you can check it out if you want, but you will find that it's very true)! Almost everything that says "diet, sugar free, no sugar added" has this chemical. Diet sodas are the worst! So, check your labels, you will be surprised what you find. Any health care professional, personal trainer, or dietician will tell you to stay away from it. So, protein shakes, healthy whole foods, no chemicals (aspartame), and a little bit of exercise are what helped me. I hope that I have helped you.
Hi E.,
I have had problems since I was 17 yrs old with weight gain issues. I'm now 27 yrs old and for the firs time in my life I'm actually starting to lose weight. I tried for years different diets and diet pills. Then I started doing Billy Blanks Boot Camp with the Resistant Bands and let me tell you in the first 7 days I lost 10 inches off my waist and started losing my flab off my stomach. I make sure to eat protein in the morning such as 1 scrambled egg with toast peaches and cottage cheese. I juice for a snack or have fresh piece of fruit. Please feel free to contact me for more information. There is so many different meals I can write that are satisfying and will help suppress your appetite.I did try those meal replacement bars but there not all that great because about after 5 minutes of eating it you will get hungry again. I hope this helps in some way. Let me know how you do.
A bar is meant to me a substitute only when nothing better is around as to maintain your blood sugar so you don't find yourself eating something you should not. Another use for bars is when you are very active and need a recovery meal. If there is a program out there where you eat bars as a meal, yea, you would probably loose weight but are you going to eat bars as meal replacement for the rest of your life? Probably not, so the weight would come back on once you stop the program.
A realistic way to loose weight: I did it after baby number two by eating well and exercising. I also joined Stroller Strides (www.strollerstrides.com) which got me in the best shape of my life in about 4 mos. I went 5-6 days a week which isn't neccesary but I was/am addicted to it. I've been active and worked out my whole life but it wasn't until I began strenght training that I toned up.
Best of luck to you! Be patient and it will happen.
