Breastfeeding.

Otherwise, once you are healed and feel up to it you should be able to do whatever kind of excercise you want. If you're not breastfeeding, I'd think you should be able to do any kind of diet or weight loss program you want as soon as you're healed. Only you will know when your body is ready. For weight loss programs, I highly recommend Weight Watchers.

Not sure if this helps - but I nursed my daughter and with the extra caloric needs and "forced" healthy diet I lost weight quickly.

I couldn't really exercise for awhile (in fact I moved to much at first and had to have the incision re-opened) but once I could I use my daughter to help me exercise. Her tummy time was on my chest/ stomach and I would support her as I would sit up. She liked the up an down, and tolerate tummy time becuase she coul look at mommy. As she got older we did (and still do) lap rides and fun things where I would lift her etc.

Hope this helps!

You really can't do a whole lot right now except use your legs and arms...Walking is great and if you feel up to it, carry some hand weights to work your arms. Just be careful how you move. You need to allow your belly time to heal; I was told to do nothing with my belly for 3 months so I wouldn't rip my incision.

Google Fit Yummy Mummy. It was the best thing I ever did. It only cost me $40 everything else after that is extra info and support but you can achieve all the results with just that initial investment. It is really more of a lifestyle change than a diet. I learned how my body works and how to work with it. Heck I'll even be your workout buddy if you'd like. Just PM me if you have more questions or want that support! Oh they're also on facebook it you're into that.

I did not use this after having a baby, but I know people who have had great success with it. My husband included. It can be used even if you are nursing with some exceptions, which if you have an interest I would be happy to share with you. I am a Shaklee Indep Distrib (fyi). This is a wonderful and healthy plan.

Not really direct advice for your question more and side comment about weight loss and breast feeding.

I had a c-birth w/both kids and breast fed both of them. I was concerned the first time around with weight loss. Didn't go over the top with anything just lots of walking and watching what I ate and I was w/in 5 lbs of my original 105 w/in 4-6 weeks of birth...But you know what? I think that can interfere with breast feeding. Because with the 2nd, I worried not at all with calorie counts with the 2nd and breast feeding was easier.

The thing is...Breast feeding takes a lot (calories) out of you and if you are only "replacing" that loss with a normal 2,000 calorie diet...Sure, you'll lose weight but breast feeding (IMO) will suffer.

I walked slowly at first, so I wouldn't do any damage, then sped up as time went on. After I gained some of the weight back I started using an elliptical machine everyday and lifting free weights twice a week. Once a week I do yoga or pilates. I lost 10 pounds in a month. Something to keep in mind after a c-section is that no matter how much you lose, you may always have a "baby belly". For a lot of people, myself included, the scar is flat and the belly right over it is a bit poochy or hangy. But if you get to a healthy weight, you can hide it with your clothes.

Drink mummy magic weight loss tea. I've managed to lose 35 pounds extra from my body just drinking this tea for three times a day.

weight loss after a c section is the same as weight loss any time. Nursing really helps but if you are not nursing, cut back, smaller portions, less carbs, more water, and exercise. If you can stick to that, you will lose weight quickly.

I had a c-section for both of my little ones, and breastfeeding dertainly did help. I lost most of the weight very quickly but then hit a plateau and could not lose anything for about two months. At about 3 months after my most recent c-section I starting taking Zumba classes. They are super fun and a great work out. They help you lost weight all over (and are not a strain on your mid-section) and don't require you altering your diet. (obvisouly eating thelathy to begin with is going to help more). In the one month since I have been taking the classes I have lost about 7 pounds and finally got past that plateau!
You can do them at your own level since you know how hard you can push yourself. They really are fun and a nice way to interact with others.
