Weekend Trip with Kids and Dog

I don't know about the availability of the homes, but I used to work for a property management company in Summit County (most of the homes are in Breckenridge). Some of them allow dogs and some of them don't, so you would have to check it out. I don't know if these would be out of your price range (I know they are out of mine), but worth a shot. We have spent the holiday weekend at the Broadmor. I know what you are thinking...cha ching! They have great specials for the holiday weekend. They take dogs and I believe kids eat for free. The pool is great and there are great activities in the area. We have even hired a baby sitter to watch our little guy so we could go to the spa and have dinner.

The Estes park or winter park YMCA's are awesome, they allow dogs( I think but you might want to double check), they have cabins that are very simple and very clean. I really love the Y. so family friendly and non comercialized! Lots of family activities for everyone to do together. Also, Golden Gate state park is close ( just outside of Golden) and nice if you like to camp. They actually have Yurts so you just have to bring sleeping bags and food. They also have showers and indoor bathrooms!

There is a great campground outside of Manitou Springs in Cascade. They have small sleeping buildings (just beds and a roof over your head) Sleeps four. The place has a pool, serves breakfast, has tv game room and a small pond for fishing. My kids have always loved it and the area. Manitou is a fun little town for all ages.

Lone Duck, they do have a website, though I do not have it at the moment. The owner, Steve and his wife are just delightful. Have children of their own and if you go more than one time, you become great friends, almost family - good luck! Tell them the tie dye girl from Littleton sent you!

We go hiking every weekend with our three daughters and dog. We like going to the Boulder-Lyons area a lot and can suggest several places to go hiking and camping there. You may already know this but you can't bring your dog into Rocky Mt. National Park, which is a total bummer. There are places not far from Estes Park, though, where you can bring the dog - again we know of places to hike, but there would also be lots available as far as motels if you're looking for that too.
Garden of the Gods/ Colorado Springs, and Manitou Springs are fun too.

There are a few really cute cabins in Estes Park where you can take your dog. They are usually very affordable but very "cozy". Usually with a kitchen, bath, and couch in a studio setting. If you have never been to Estes, it is very relaxing and family friendly. Hiking, boating, skyway tram, slides, and we love to drive around Rocky Mountain Natl. Park and look at the wildlife (amazing... we watched a coyote catch dinner and take it to her pups, also a billion deer and elk.) The only catch is that these places fill up fast. It may be too late for this summer, but keep it in mind.
