My husband and I are going to have our first weekend alone since our 3.5 year old daughter was born. We would like to stay somewhere close, probably within new mexico. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

Angelfire, NM!! That was one of my best weekend vay-kay's with my hunny!! I'm not sure what you guys like, but Angelfire is right in a beautiful mountainous area, you can ski, or drive about 10 mins. to Red River and shop in their little "downtown" area...or drive up the hill and hike in the forest. There's fishing at Eagle Nest lake, or you can pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the quiet beauty. There is also an AWESOME steak house just outside of Eagle Nest. All this is within a 10-20 min drive from Angelfire. I HIGHLY Recommend it!!!

Ojo Caliente is REALLY nice. Ten thousand Waves in Santa Fe is excellent and they have lodging. Taos is always lovely too. Truth or Consequences have nice springs and is also lovely. So many choices here in NM. Have a blast... looking forward to our first weekend away together!

I vote for Ojo Caliente. Also I've heard nice things about T or C: cheap and nice! I've also enjoyed Cloudcroft and Galisteo. Have fun!

Hi S.,

My husband and I are actually doing a getaway ourselves. We are going to Pagosa Springs. It's in CO about 4 hours from here but it is so relaxing and beautiful up there. This is will be our second trip up there. We found a cabin to rent for $100 a night on VRBO.com. We also like Red River they have some great B&Bs out there. I would recommend the Yellow Rose B&B.

I hope you guys have a great time where ever you go.
