My sister got married last year at the Westin in Itasca. The hotel is onsite, it's incredibly convenient to O'Hare and anywhere else since it's right off of 290/53.
I am looking for wedding reception venues for my brother and his fiance who live out of town but will be getting married in Illinois. Since there will be guests coming in from out of town, they would prefer a hotel with banquet facilities. If you also know of a banquest facility that has a nearby hotel and offers shuttle service, I would love to hear about it. They are looking to have the reception somewhere between the Lombard and Schaumburg/Arlington Heights areas.

It may be a little out of the way, but the Redfield Estate in Glenview is a beautiful old house built around the turn of the century. You don't say how many people are on the list; it can only accomodate about 125, but it's set back in the woods and has a quaint gazebo that can be decorated. The Wyndam Hotel is accross the street and will run a shuttle back and forth. Check it out at www.redfieldestate.org for pictures and more info. Good Luck!
We used Embassey Suites in Schaumburg for my wedding
Hotel Indigo in Palatine is beautiful and they have a ballroom. The hotel is really nice. They have reception packages and room packages. There's also a banquet facilities a half a block a way called The Cotillion. They have a really nice facility and the staff is super nice and professional. The Indigo will shuttle your guests from the banquet to the hotel.

Marriott Chicago Ohare is a bit closer to O'Hare than what you suggested so might be better for traveling guests. I went to a reception there that was great -- had the appetizers and cocktail hours in the tiki bar area which was very unique and then the food was great and in the biggest ballroom (they have smaller ones too).
We had our reception at Fountain Blue in Des Plaines and guests stayed at the Hilton-Garden Inn on River Road in Des Plaines (it was 1 year old in 2006) - it has an indoor pool, price was good and they set up shuttles to get guests to the reception and back home.
However, if the wedding ceremony is somewhere in Lombard or Schaumburg, these might be useless for you! Good luck!
The Seville in Streamwood was excellent to work with for our wedding reception 9.5 years ago already. They were very inclusive in what they offered so it all went smoothly and trouble-free. Great price for great facilities, cake, etc. They are not a hotel, but there were shuttles to nearby hotels as I remember.
Eaglewood Resort in Itasca is gorgeous. It has all been renovated with a very modern contemporary feel to it. Must check it out!

We had our reception at The Avalon, which is in Elk Grove Village. There are about 3 hotels within 2 blocks, but we booked a block of rooms at The Marrriott Suites O'Hare, which had a free shuttle. The room block was awesome--2 room suites for $99 a night, and we got our room for free since at least 10 of our guests booked rooms there.
I work at Eaglewood Resort and Spa and we do alot of weddings here.
It is a beautiful place. If interested please call our Director of Catering
Rob Rybicki at ###-###-####.
We also do alot of room only blocks for weddings that are held at
Venutis which is right down the street. We shuttle back and forth from there.
