the hospital or dr. should help him. I hope he will be fine.. get him to the hospital right away... no one will be in trouble.. his mom didn't know.. the hospital will help the baby and teach his mom how to take care of the baby.. if she won't bring him to the hospital... call 911 ... the baby needs help... NOW... good luck

A 2 month old baby isn't supposed to be drinking cow's milk. It doesn't have the nutrients or calories to support growth and development. 100% of a baby's nutrition this age should come from breastmilk or formula.

The "prescription" is to get some medical care NOW. Like in the emergency room.

If her breastmilk isn't dried up, she needs to put him on the breast now and often. If they can't afford formula, then they need to apply for emergency services NOW.

Forgive me for saying so, but your post is a little confusing. Help needs to be found now for this baby in the form of professional intervention. Lack of doing so could be construed as negligence.

He needs breastmilk or formula now. Get him to the ER they cannot and will not deny services. It sound like he may need an IV to prevent dehydration. Cow's milk is not ok until one year old. He should be getting breast milk or formula every 2 hours. Please, get him to the Emergency Room immediately. I wish you and your family well.

P., please, please, please take this baby either to his regular doctor or to the hospital ASAP. Non one will get into trouble and the baby will get the help he needs. Only a doctor can tell you what is wrong and help the baby. Please do not wait! This baby is too young to be so weak. Please update to let us know how the baby is.

He needs to go to hospital if you cannot sort it out yourself.

The baby needs plenty of liquids such as breastmilk or formula. Try to give him smaller amounts of milk more often. Make sure the formula you give him is made as directed. Used filtered water and you should not give cow's milk. Avoid fruit juices and no carbonated drinks. Also you can give him little bits of oral rehydration solution (ORS), such as Dioralyte, as few times an hour with his breastmilk, or full-strength formula and water. Keep your baby in a cool place out of the sun. He will need to drink more in the summer.

Get the baby to the hospital now. Do not wait. The doctors will do what it takes to get the baby fed and hydrated. Do not give the baby cow's milk any more. If not cow's milk, the baby needs breast milk or canned baby formula.

If the mother is not feeding the baby at all and will not take him to the hospital or the doctor office then you have to call Child Protective Services or 911 so the police can call C.P.S.

if baby is too weak to nurse or take formula , take baby to the hospital right now.
NEVER ever give regular milk to an infant.

It sounds like maybe he became dehydrated and/or anemic while he was drinking cow's milk? Does this mean he has seen a doctor? If his mother just started breastfeeding then she might not have the proper milk supply, he might need formula too. If he has already seen a doctor and you don't understand what they told you then you should definitely call again and try to write down everything they say, have someone else help you who won't be too emotional. Ask if you should bring him in again. If he hasn't seen a doctor then he needs to see one ASAP, take him to the ER, they won't turn you away for insurance or anything. At two months old sick and weak is not a good thing, he needs proper nutrition. Best of luck.
