When I dropped my cell phone in the water, people said to pack the battery in rice for a few days to get all the water out. It seems like that'd work for little people, too.
So, my son wanted to take a few of his "Little People" in the tub with him...and my husband said "okay". Bad idea, I know...they have holes in the bottom of them. Men don't think about those things though..right?! Well, it has now been over a week and we are still unable to get all of the water out of the Little People. We tried shaking them and setting them neat the heater vents and turning them every which way to try to drain them. Any other ideas? I am worried the water will get nasty in there and we will have to toss them in the trash. Can anyone help!?
Thanks!

Is it possible to drill a small hole in the lowest part somewhere? That way the water could drain out whenever they got moisture in?
I know it sounds really weird, but I had this problem with toy bowling balls with a tiny pin hole in them. What worked for me was to blow into that little hole and THEN shake the water out. The air you blow into it displaces the water...something has to get out because there's not enough room in there for both, so the water comes out. I hope it works for you!
Get a flavor injector syringe and suck the water out! Good luck!
I had the same thing happen with different toys. We drilled a little hole in the bottom and were able to get the water out.
Hi! Have you tried putting alcohol in the toys to evaporate the water? Then you could put the toys in front of a fan (I wouldn't recommend the heater vent if using alcohol). You could also try the "swim ear" drops - that may work.
Good luck!
The rubbing alcohol thing works really well for water trapped in the ear - I would try a few drops & see how it works.
We've had the same thing happen. It never got really nasty, as far as I recall. The only thing I can think of to help is to set them upside down near the heater for a while so that evaporating water can escape through the hole (water vapor rises). May not get it all out because of how small the hole is, but it could help.
The water will get nasty in there, so you have to find a place on the bottom and have your husband drill a tiny hole in it. I go through this all the time! :) I usually clean all the plastic toys by filling the bathtub up and dumping them in hot soapy water for a cleaning. I found so many toys retained water and it was disgusting!
I cannot tell you how gross that water gets as it smells so badly! I have had to throw out toys before due to this problem. I found taking an arm off (that can be put back on) for drainage, putting a small hole in the bottom allows whatever toy to let the water out. The tiny hole or holding it upside down to where the place the water got in to drain helps too.
Thankfully my son is now into showers but those rare occassions he is all about filling the bathtub up, believe me I try hard to make sure toys that I can get the water back out of are in with him! :)
My kids just kept them as only bathtub toys so we didn't worry about getting the water out.
Yes, the Little People...I have kept them out of the bath for just that reason. My first idea is to stuff some Kleenex in the hole and see what you can suck up. If that doesn't work, you can call Fisher Price, and if you haven't had the people for a year yet, you can probably get them replaced. They sent me a second set of farm people/animals after our dog ate a few of them. :)
Would you be able to pour some rubbing alcohol into the hole? I would think it would help the water to evaporate. You could probably get some of those drops to treat swimmer's ear so it would be easy to drop it into the hole on the Little People. The main ingredient of those drops is isopropyl alcohol and their function is to dry up water in the ear canal so it might be something worth trying.
