Washing Walls

As the end of winter creeps ever closer I want to scour my house; every square inch of it. I want to wash/disinfect the walls, but I'm not sure what the best way is. I don't know what kind of paint is on them. I have used a magic eraser on them and that hasn't removed any paint. Does anyone know of a good homemade disinfectant/cleaner that I could make enough of to wash my walls? I don't want to do vinegar and water because that would stink up my house. Any chance someone out there knows the best way for me to go about this?? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I know of a Great health and Wellness company that has amazing cleaning products. If you would like to know more just let me know- their products are non toxic and better than anything I have ever used. They make cleaning easy. I don't sell their products but I can refer you through a presentation. You can email me at: ____@____.com

Also would recommend that before trying the clorox brand go online and find out about their ingredients. ALot of toxic ingredients are covered by trade names. Q15 or Quartanium 15 is formaldyhyde. There are actually 15 different trade names for this ingredient. That is if you want to make sure it is non-toxic..

As somebody else said, Simple Green is a good cleaner. I really like it, and I think it sort of smells like wintergreen. Also I just bought a new product by Clorox, called Green Works. It's all natural and safe for the environment. It has a slight lemon smell to it. It worked great on my countertops and bathroom. I am sure it will be great on my walls too. You could try either of these products. (The new Clorox product is priced alright too!)

Sorry I don't have any homemade cleansers to share with you, but if you go to the Hints from Heloise website I am sure that you will find one there.

Add lemon juice to your vinager water mixture. It will smell a little but not for long at all.

As I was growing up, my grandmother used to make us clean with vinegar water on the walls and baseboards. It is a home remedy for cleaning and I do use it here as needed.

There is a natural cleaner called Simple Green. It has a sort of pleasant smell (though it still smells like a cleaner) and I have used it on walls before. It is supposed to be non-toxic, I think.

I also suggest vinegar diluted with water. It is a fantastic disinfectant. I have three little boys and I use it in their bathroom all the time. It won't take off the paint either.
