Washing Machines - Olathe,KS

Hello Moms, I am looking for advice regarding what kind of washing machine to purchase. I currently have a front loader, and I do not like it. It really seems to me that clothes just need more water than what a front loader uses to get really clean and odor free. We have started looking at replacement washers just to have a good idea of what we want when this one bites the dust. There are top loaders with and without agitators in the middle, Do you have opinions on which is better?

Thanks,

M.

I had a front load Maytag over 10 yrs that did a good job cleaning clothes.

I recently replaced it with the Samsung front loader 3.9 cubic feet with steam option and I love it.

Our clothes are clean, no odors, and the drying time is cut in half. No issue with mold either.

I love my new Samsung set. I wouldn't purchase Maytag again as their products have lapsed in quality. I love my new set and couldn't be happier!!

I don't know anything about top loaders

I totally get your thought process. I was skeptical about a front loader. We loved our Maytag top loader with agitator, it lasted forever. That said, we have a GE front loader which I love. As long as I leave the door open when done and slide out the detergent tray a bit, there are no odors. Stainless steel interior, nice wash cycles. Sorry to say I have to vote for front loader too. I'm sorry that you don't like yours. :(

If buying a top loader, I'd skip the agitator. I think clothes last longer without all that twisting. I had several things that seemed to lose their shape. Good luck!

I vote for the front loader. My clothes come out clean and odor free, and I have a low end Whirlpool and only wash in cold water. They dry in no time and the water and energy savings are amazing! Do you leave the washer door open between washes? Maybe try cleaning your washer with vinegar.
