Wanting to Buy a Nursing Cloak

Hi all~

A few months ago, I saw and chatted with a lady at the zoo who was using what she called a nursing cloak. It completely covered her and baby and I'd love to have one, but I haven't had any luck finding one. I've nursed three children and I'm pregnant with #4, due in about three weeks, but that is the only time I've ever seen one. (She received hers as a gift.) Has anyone seen one of these? Can you tell me where to buy one? Thanks! :)B.

What can I do next?

I am a 63 year old grandmother who was discouraged from nursing my own 2 children, something I've regretted. So I would love to support your nursing your own child whenever and wherever you need to. I'm going to do research on line for a pattern and if we can find one, I will make you one.
Love you,
Mom

At Babies R US there is a whole nursing section that has two or three different kinds. I'm not crazy about them, but the black one is the better of the two I have tried. There are some fancier ones online, which are better but they cost a lot more. Here's one mother's blog about them and two of the many sites that sell such products.

B.,

I am not sure where you can buy this item...but i know someone who probably does know. Bernadette Olivier owns Rite of Passage in Pearland. She is a midwife who has resources for many wonderful pregnancy and baby products.

Hello, well I've never heard it called a cloak, but I have 2 and they're called Hooter Hiders. Google that and you'll see plenty! They have very cute patterns.

Zoey Luna is an ebay seller who makes lovely, full coverage, durable covers that have a semi-rigid piece that allows easy visual on baby. They run about $25. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZhimarkle She has different fabrics to choose from and they come in their own cute little carry pouch.
