The Royal Oak Community Center only rents to non-profits and I think they are supposed to be pretty reasonable.
I am on the planning committee for a Halloween/Fall party for a small non-profit organization. We have a very small budget. We are having a difficult time finding a place to hold the party within our budget. Last years place was donated but not available this year. I am hoping you can help with suggestions of inexpensive places to hold the party (within Oakland county) and any suggestions for affordable entertainment. This is a family party for approximately 60-120 adults/children. Light food is typically served buffet style.

Your local parks and rec probably has space available for pretty reasonable. Waterford's does. If I can help more, let me know!

Maybe there is someone in your group that belongs to a church you could utilize. You could offer a small donation, and there may be plenty of space, depending on the church. Your other option could be to try a local park that had a indoor space, too.
Have you tried camp dearborn? http://www.campdearborn.com/ It's actually in Milford. But friends of ours have used it before and they have a nice pavillion. They rent jumpers, etc., have hayrides, decorate pumpkins, make s'mores, etc. Also, I think Kensington Metro Park has a room you can rent. Best of luck to you.

Bowers Farm in Bloomfield Township (on Square Lake between Adams and Squirrel) has a corn maze beginning September 27 and running through November 1. This is a big, public event, but I know you can get a group discount. Your group could do the corn maze, there are plenty of animals for the kids to visit and there is a gazebo you could use as a gathering point for refreshments. I believe they also provide hayrides. It may not be the type of thing you've done in the past, but it's a great venue for kids with built in entertainment. Could be a different, affordable option. You can get details at www.BloomfieldMaze.com or by calling ###-###-####.
Good luck with your planning. L.

Check out Rivercrest Banquet Hall on Avon and Livernois (near Rochester College) in Rochester, MI. We had an event there for our non-profit in May and are planning another one for November 8th. They are fabulous, and will give you a deal if you are a non-profit. I highly recommend them, excellent to work with, and they took fabulous care of us in May for our first event.
