Want to Hear Others Experience with the iPhone.

I just purchased Mac computers for my new home and would love to get an iPhone so that all my addresses, appointments, and numbers would sync. I have heard conflicting reports about people's experience with the iPhone and the AT&T service that comes with it. I am moving to a new home in Chandler (Chandler Heights and Gilbert) and don't want to switch over if I am going to have problems with the reception and dropped calls. I also have to pay a fee to get out of my Verizon contract, so if it is not worth doing, I don't want to spend the money. Thanks for any input you can give.

Hi D.! I have an iPhone 3G and I love it! I have a few dead zones in my neighborhood, (Queen Creek/Sossaman)... sometimes it drops the call but mostly it just cuts out for a few seconds. The biggest complaint that women have with this phone is that it's hard to touch the screen with long nails. I have long nails though and after getting used to it, I have no problems at all! It really is a beautiful phone but you have to make sure that you're going to use all its features for that price! Good luck on deciding!

I love mine, and the syncing works great, far better than having a blackberry. I found that I got used to the keyboard really fast. My husband also has one, and he reports that the antenna is not as good as his last two AT&T phones, and he drops more calls in our house (he's on it all the time for work). Usually, you have 30 days to try the phone and service, but there's a restocking fee on the iPhone, and I don't know how that works if you had to cancel your old service to move the number.

I also recently bought a Mac, and as much as I would love to switch to the iphone, it just wasn't worth the extra expense (my Sprint plan is really cheap and to switch to AT&T it would be 3 times the price). But my phone and computer are such a tool for me that I really want them to sync. I switch from my Treo (with a Microsoft Windows operating system) to a Centro (with a Palm operating system) and my Centro syncs with my Macbook. Mac will sync with Palm (or at least some palm-based phones) but not with the Windows Operating system very well at all. It was very frustrating. There is a company called The Missing Sync that acts as a third-party software that syncs your phone with your Mac, but adding yet another company's product into the mix may only make things more complicated.

I have both the iPhone and a Mac and absolutely LOVE it! I also subscribe to MobileMe, so when I update information in one device it will automatically update in the other (definitely helps since I run my business from my house, and who wants to update the same info in both?!) The only time I sync the phone with the computer is when there is a software update or when I am changing out the iTunes content (music, movies, pictures) I switched from TMobile to AT&T and did have to pay a fee since I had to break my contract early. But to me it is so worth it because of the features of the iPhone. Because I run my business from my home, I love that I can go into the contact list, touch on my customer's address and the phone will show me a map! No more printing maps anymore! Sometimes the phone locks up a little... but I just have to power down the phone then turn it back on. I've only had to power down 3 times in the year that I've had my phone. But my biggest complaint is that the To Do List doesn't sync with the iPhone... that's where I want to keep my call log... and it would be great to be able to take my call log with me in the phone when I'm out and about. But regarding the functionality of the phone, I LOVE IT!
