Want to Be Stay at Home Mom

I have a 6 month old son and returned back to work full time about 3 months ago. I really want to stay at home with him but financially speaking we can't afford to live off just my husbands income alone. Any ideas of how any of you other moms who stay home yet are able to somehow make additional money would be great.

S.: If you have not found a home business yet, if you have pets and love pets - we have a holistic pet food home based buisness - if you are interested, call my husband Bill at ###-###-#### - There was more money spent on dog food last year than baby food! There is a huge market for our products!

I started my own company and it has been great! I have a babysitter come in 4 days a week for 6 hours at a time and I work from home. There is such a need for services here in Vegas, just put an ad in the yellow pages, and you'll be surprised at how often the phone will ring.

The only thing that I would be able to suggest is to find a couple of friends that have children that you could watch while you are home with your son. Make sure they know that you don't have a licence (unless you are willing to get one). This way, your friends can possibly get a break on their child care expenses, and you can make some money. My sister-in-law currently watches my daughter for me while I work, and I like the fact that it is a home environment that she gets more personal time while still learning (she gets to play with her older cousin and learns by imitating her). It has worked well for us.

Have you talked with your employer? I'm not sure what you do for a living, but many employers are running into this situation more and more these days. Your boss may have a suggestion about a new arrangement for you. When I had my son, I began working part of the week from home, and now I work totally from home, during naps and nights.

Hi Serena,
I understand your situation. I have 3 children. The way I supplemented
my income when I needed it was I became a Mary Kay consultant. It is the kind of
business I could do in my time. No sales quotas no pressure. When I started Mary Kay I just needed two hundred a week to supplement
our income. This took maybe 10 hours of my time. Anyway it is five years later and I still work Mary Kay part time. I love it. Mary Kay believes in God first family second and carrer third. Praising people to success. And living by the golden rule. So if you are intersted. Let me know. I hope this helps.
Take care!
M.
