Okay Ladies,
So the bathroom renovation is completed and it is GORGOUS. My guys did such a great job and it feels 10 times bigger, The tile work is equisite and the new vanity cabinet and top are divine. I couldn't be more blessed.
My issue, now that all the little shelves and ornaments have been removed, I have this huge empty wall over the toilet. I want to find something interesting and decorative to hang in that space. I have been looking online and haven't been too thrilled by what I'm finding. The whole room is very organic in nature, based on water, beach glass, and granite. I have found some stained glass pieces that I like but I don't want to drop a few hundred more dollars into the space just to get something that I will be bored with after a few months.
I know we are about to launch into art fair season and think that might be a good resources but If any of you can direct me to some additional resources, I would so greatly appreciate it.
Ladies, I can't thank you enough for the input. I agree finding local is preferable but I also appreciate the online guidance. I will google John Galbo as well. I wish I could post a picture when all is said and done. Abundant gratitude!!! S.

I know you are looking to purchase something but my mom just did this cool thing she found on Pinterest. She found a poster she really like and then bought like 9 smaller canvases and cut the poster into 9 squares the size of the canvases and mod podged them onto the canvases. Then she hung it- it looks really cool.
As an artist, I beg you to please buy local! If you want a really unique, special piece of art, you won't find it at a big chain store. If you don't want to wait for the local artists, check out Etsy.com.
a shelf with colored glass bottles? they could be functional and hold qtips etc or just decorative, I haven't tried it but i saw on pinterest you could use elmers glue and food coloring to make a transparent paint and tint what ever glass piece what ever color you want.
How about a light wrough iron piece above the toilet? You can get a light
one & make sure it's secure.
Or buy one of those graphics or word phrases that you peel & adhere to
the wall. They used to be sold at home parties but I've noticed them
everywhere now.
You could even hire someone to paint a design (not mural type picture)
on the wall. It would always be easy to paint over if you needed to do
that.
The vinyl wall words/graphic art can be found at Michaels and most big box stores.
Online you can check out Overstock.com as they have a lot of art options. Think outside the box a little. Go to a garden store and find something metal. I like pieces that are interchangable in different rooms. A couple of my favorites for art is Gordmans or Home Goods. I don't like spending a lot of money b/c I like to change things up often.
I have found an artist (Photographer) at the art fairs (Wyandotte, Plymouth and possibly Ann Arbor) that I buy from every year. Some of his photo's are taken through glass I think, and it produces a beautiful 'muddy' look. His name is John Galbo, I believe from Saginaw, MI. Some of the work is expensive, but it's really not out of reach. Maybe you could check him out. Good Luck!
Ever been to the website Viva Terra?
I love the stained glass idea but in full disclosure, I am a glass artist. I particularly love mosaics but they are expensive. 😊
My daughter found several favorite pieces from Etsy and Pinterest.
Last week she purchased to pieces of art from the local arts festival and they are beautiful.
As for above the toilet, I am more for function so I have a nice cabinet installed about the 4 bathrooms we have. It helps with storage of basics!!
Good luck.
Ugallery.com sells original art work and offers an in-home trial so you can make sure you like it.
