He's probably just trying to keep his balance. Remember: He's only been doing this for 4 months. He's not a pro at it just yet ;-)
I have a 15 month old boy. He's been walking since he was 11 months. Crawled very well, and meeting all milestones. I'm wondering if you have ever noticed your child walking but only moving one arm. He is right handed, but when he walks/runs he leaves his right arm pretty still and swings the left arm only. He is very strong, climbs, can crawl up of things, climb stairs, and uses both arms hands all the time.. both arms move and like I said he appears to be right handed. Is this a toddler quirk or should I be concerned.

My son is 16 months and does the same thing! He walks well, climbs, throws things but often has his left arm kind of hanging down. It's funny because my first son never did this. I'm noticing that he is doing it less and less, I'm sure it's just for balance.
He's probably fine. I've never heard of this, but I've never heard of a lot of things (he, he) It can't hurt to mention it to your ped when you're there next. He/she has heard it all and it used to it. If it's totally normal, you will have piece of mind.
My son does exactly the same thing. He's 20 months now and still doing it.
I've always wondered why my son does it, good to know that others do it haha. I just always figured it was just something weird he did lol. Like when he walks or plays and his tongue is sticking out haha.
Dont worry, if he is doing everything fine without trouble and sounds like it then everything is good, its just something kids do I guess.
its not just a toddler thing, watch adults, they do the same thing.
just because your doctor "hints" that "why, this may be a future concern", dont even bother to take this doctors "concern" seriously, he is just trying to stress you so that you will SURPRISE bring the child in, and he can make more money off of you.now, if the child had one arm that was noticeable smaller then the other, or he had a noticeable limp, then that would be a concern.

My son is almost 15 months and walks the same exact way.
