So we went to a fair/circus this past weekend and as I struggled to keep my child in his stroller, I noticed some other familes with their kids in the radio flyer wagon.....and it seemed so convenient for trips to the zoo etc....what are your thoughts??
I did some research and like the Radio Flyer pathfinder wagon - does anyone have any experience with these? some comments said it was hard to turn?
Any other recommendations?
TIA!

What can I do next?

We have the Radio Flyer Pathfinder and LOVE it. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 year old. They love to go for walks in it. We have taken it to Sea World, the zoo, and parades. It can be bulky, but it keeps the kids happy, which keeps me sane. :)

ETA: Mine does have straps so you can strap them in. It also has cup holders, which both kiddos find pretty cool.

Wagon is awesome. Hopefully it will fit in your trunk. I loved it because I could put both my little ones in it.

I WISH I had kept my son's wagon! I sold it when I was broke a few years back. :(

When our son was 3 we got a Radio Flyer All Terrain wagon, with the handle extension (my husband is tall).
We have great pictures of Daddy and Son working to put it together!
It fit fine into the minivan and we took that thing everywhere!
Walks in the park or on trails, Renaissance fairs, county fairs, etc.
When he had energy our son wanted to pull it himself.
When he was tired he'd ride or even lay down and take a nap (we kept a large beach towel in it).
We still have that wagon and even though our son is done using it, I use it to cart my yard tools around the yard with me when I'm working on the garden.
Wagons are great!

I've seen this at amusement parks. I saw a couple kids riding in style in a wagon with a canvas roof. It looked very comfy for the kids. Maybe not so much for their parents who had to pull them around...those wagons can get heavy! Seems like a viable stroller option, although at Disney World, Busch Gardens, etc., there are trams and stuff that might make it inconvenient.

I personally can't 'do' wagons-- they hurt my back. Rarely are the handles long enough to pull comfortably-- and I'm pretty short. (not even 5').

When I did use wagons with the kids I cared for, yes, they were a bit bulky and difficult to turn. Also, there are no straps, so you do have to remind busy little ones that "You have to sit down in the wagon or walk next to me". They sure are cute, but I found them to be more trouble than helpful. Plus, pulling up the hill is *work* with a kid, so unless you are on a flat surface....

The pulling of the wagon is a drag. We bought one on Craigslist and then turned around to resell it almost immediately. I wasn't fond of having my child behind me. I am not normally unsettled by those kinds of things but it kind of bothered me. We have gone the single push car route. My husband modified the wheels with rubber ones so it is easier to push/manuver and quieter on the ears over the pavement. He is in the process of modifying the handle since it is too short. We briefly considered a garden wagon (big chunky rubber wheels) but it was too large to fit in the cars we have. I suggest trying them out in the store so you can find a good fit and to see all the features. Many of them have straps and cup holders for instance. Good luck.

I have rented them when my kids were small. It's something that you can keep them in and they don't feel like babies in a stroller. But you have to be careful depending on where you go. Like Ft Worth zoo is harder to do with anything wheeled. They have ramps in some places but they are harder to use. But is you are going to choose between taking a stroller and wagon I would go with the wagon.

I don't personally like pulling wagons because they are awkward for me. The handle is always at an awkward height and it puts a strain on my back. My husband feels the same way. Plus, the constant pulling motion... I always prefer strollers when my kids were small enough (and with a baby on the way we'll be back in the stroller world soon!).
