VPK Provider

S.C. asks from Land O Lakes, FL

Hello! I'm looking for a VPK provider in or near Land O Lakes (Lutz, Bruce B Downs or maybe WC would be ok). I recently removed my son from a program and am looking for either a smaller class size or a better boy/girl ratio in the class than the school he attended. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hi S.,

My children went to Kids' Stuff for several years and now go for after school care. They are awesome!!!!! Cathy Peckett, the director, runs a top notch school. It's not day care, it is an educational, nuturing, warm environment for your children to be in. Their phone number is ###-###-####. ASk for Cathy to schedule an appointment for a tour of the school. I have not heard anything positive about Kids R Kids or Primrose.

Good Luck!!

A.

S.,

Kiddie Campus University (KCU) is on US 41, just north of the Florida/Nebraska split. They offer VPK and have a GREAT program. I transferred there a year ago from Primrose (which is suppose to be all about education and not daycare) and within a few months of being there at age 3 (just about to turn 4), my son was reading small 3-4 letter words! They have a great boy/girl ratio as well as a good ethnic blend. The overall VPK class has about 35-40 kids; however, they split them into groups and have two teacher per group. They are very structured and have a great system for behavior (red light, yellow light, & green light) - they are pretty strict about behavior and are trying to teach them about what their classes are like in kindergarten. I even have a 2 1/2 year old there as well. You should check it out! I have had other parents from Primrose transfer as well after seeing my son's progress and they too are so impressed.

Last year when I made this move, I looked at so many schools in the Lutz, Land o Lakes area and found nothing that compared! Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you.

Good luck,
Sam

My kids did Family of Christ on Bruce B. Downs and I LOVED it. I definitely think they learn SO much there. The director, Jill, is awesome, and the teachers are fabulous.
