I just read in yesturday's paper that a court ruled that Vonage could no longer sign up new customers due to a copyright dispute with another company. So, even if you did want it, you may not be able to get it.....
I am thinking of signing up for Vonage for the free long sistance abd becaseu they have good small business plans. Does anyone have them and have any feedback? Is it reliable? I have heard great reviews, but I have one friend in Plano who has it and syays every few calls cuts out. I am in the Highland Village/ Flower Mound area.

I am in Flower Mound. We had Vonage. We switched to Fios as soon as it became available to our neighborhood. Phone service with Vonage wasn't as clear as Fios is.
We are very happy Fios customers!
I had Vonage for over a year, and was very pleased with the service. The reason why I stopped using it was because our cable internet became unreliable which made the phone unreliable as well. There was one time that the phone went down for about 5 mins, but when I noticed it I logged into the site and it stated very clearly that they were having problems along with an estimated time it would be working again.
Hope this helps you in your decision.

Hi K.,
We were with them for 3 weeks and it was a complete disaster. We would be bumped off the internet, phone line would drop, and when you need assistance, you are connected to customer service out of the country who can not speak English very well, therefore, you never get your question answered or the problem resolved. It's not worth the savings, if you ask me. We are still trying to get out of paying for the box, but we have to wait until August and they put our account on "hold". I'm hoping we don't forget to call them back on the exact date they gave us...which I think is what they want so that we can't get our money back....
I have vonage and no one can tell it's not a traditional phone service. plus, I love getting emails when we have a voicemail. :)
My parents have it and I considered getting it but decided against it. They have had it for about 4-5 months and have had numerous problems with it. When they first got it, I kept calling them and no one would pick up. I called their cell phone and they said they were at home and that their home phone didn't ring at all. They had a neighbor call them and the same thing happened. I called them from my cell phone and that is the only time it started ringing. This happens every couple weeks. Sometimes one party cannot hear the other or there is a lot of static.
I asked them if the savings was worth it to them, and they hesitantly said yes but they are retired and on a fixed income.
Oh, yeah, I am in the Carrollton/Lewisville area.
