Violin Lessons in Richfield/SW Mpls/Blmgtn/Edina

My 6-year-old daughter has recently expressed an interest in learning to play the violin. Does anyone have an instructor they especially love? We live in Richfield but would be willing to go to SW Mpls, Edina, or Bloomington as well. We have a large, overly-friendly dog, so I'd prefer to go somewhere rather than have an instructor come to our house. Also, any strong reasons to choose Suzuki or not?
Thanks!

My son has an instructor (not Suzuki) in SW Mpls that we think is great. Her manner is really gentle and calm, and she is very good at explaining things. Message me directly and I'll give you her contact info.

Suzuki is great if you are willing to make a huge time commitment. They expect a lot from the parents, and the child has to do a lot of practicing, every day without fail.

Hi D.,
My girlfriend recently started taking violin students in St. Louis Park (very close to Edina) and I believe she is teaching lessons in her home. She was trained in the Suzuki method but she isn't teaching it (she is teaching a method called Jump Right In that also involves ear training). She has played classical violin and has also played in a folk/blues band for the last 17 years. She has small children herself and is very good with kids. Please email me if you would like her contact information.

They have a location on the border of Blmt and Eden Praire. My daughter is in their piano program (they specialize in violin and piano) in the Arden Hills location and loves it.
