does anyone know of VBAC friendly obgyns in the Akron area?? I'm in desperate need of finding someone who will work with me & the closest hospital (Robinson) and its associates "do not allow" VBACs. My current doctor told me "your uterus will rupture if you even go into labor" which is rediculously un true.. I really need help finding someone. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

The doc might be right about the rupturing. Every VBAC is given a percentage of success. With my sistyer she had a 66% chance of uterian rupture with her 2nd child and a 94% chance of rupture with the 3rd. It really all depends on how thin your uterus has gotten from a previous pregnancy. Look in your insurance and find another obgyn, tell him/her your interest in a VBAC and ask for your success %. It mught be your body but medically speaking you really don't know much about it, no doc will allow a VBAC if there is a great % of rupture and you want more children. If your uterus ruptures and you want a third child what are you going to do? nothing--you'll have no more children, listen to your doc but get a second opinion, if they both say the same ---- BELIEVE THEM< THEY KNOW MORE THAN YOU!

A friend of mine had a VBAC. She used the Midwives at Paragon. They have doctors that work there too. There are a bunch of offices. You can find them online.

C.,
Congratulations on the new baby! My doctor is wonderful, and she is at Robinson Memorial. She is at Northeast Ohio OB/GYN, and her name is Beth Reynolds. She is absolutely wonderful. She really works with you, and is very realistic, not to mention she understands what it is like to be pregnant! I hope this helps, and that you find a wonderful doctor! Good luck! P.

Hi C.,
I had a csec the first time and 2 vbac after. I go to the women's place-there is one in Kent and another one in the falls on state road. My particular Dr. is Dr. Biats and I really like him. He was pretty supportive of my vbac but he only delivers at Falls hospital..although I know that the dr. at the womens place in kent deliver at robinson. I did try out some other dr.'s after my 1st csec too..but none of them would do vbacs-even paragon the womens health place who I thought would be very supportive wouldn't so I went back to him and he was great. I think dr. reynolds suggested by the previous person works at a womens place.

Try Dr.Nash he is in with two other Doctor's. I believe the other is Dr.Mooney. There office is Arch St at Akron City. They have a good referal base over to a high risk OB doctor. His name is Dr. John Stewart. He does all high risk but only takes referrals.
